opinions on 3M tint

anyone have experience with 3M tint? pros? cons? any input is good...thanks

 

No real expertise on any tint, have always just paid the 150-200 to get it done right. I have seen some REAL bad DIY tint jobs.

 

3m sucks dont do it!!

 

What kind of problems did you have? I've never had any problems with my 3M tint. A BIG factor with any film/tint install is the installer. Bad installer w/ Good film/tint could equal a bad tint job.

3M Crystalline is even better. Blocks ALOT of heat/rays compared to regular tint.

 

I have had excellent experiences with 3M in the past. One of the highest quality films on the market. If you live where it is hot, spend the extra money and get the 3M FX Hi-Performance film. It does an incredible job of blocking UV rays and pretty much eliminates all heat coming through the windows, where as normal tint will NOT limit how hot the inside of your car gets, contrary to popular belief.

Keep in mind I have heard of quite a few guys selling film that is supposedly 3M and is not. One way to tell is genuine 3M film will have the logo printed every 1 1/2 feet or so (removable).

 

Yup. The backing paper for any 3M film/tint has 3M all over it. You'd be surprised, ALOT of people pass off junk film/tint as 3M.

 

3M is just fine, nothing wrong with it at all.

 

I dno't have any problems and it has a lifetime warranty - so if I do, it's going back... I did take some alcohol and wipe the "3M" logo off the window film... that looked tacky to me...

 

I had my front windows done today by a business that sells 3M. I don't recall seeing any 3M logo on the film. This business had a good rating by the BBB & a lot of dealers use them. Is it possible it's 3M & just doesn't have the logo?
