Camel spiders from Iraq. We have their cousin here in AZ - the wind scorpion or sun spider. Here's a pic of one I had in my back yard a couple years ago...

The body was over 2" long, so overall this bastard was 5" in total diameter. They have 4 big black fangs right in the front of their heads (2 on top, 2 on bottom), and they poise up like a fucking cobra when pissed off (which is all the time you poke at them LOL) and they use those 4 fangs to bite/crush/disassemble bugs. Their poison isn't harmful to people, but I hear that the bites are very painful because of the jaw strength and fang size.

I had this one in a 10gal reptile tank for about a month and would feed it beetles and crickets I caught in the yard. It would wait until I was out of sight and only attack/eat in privacy. I'd go away for a half hour and come back to find only shell pieces and cricket legs left over. Badass.
