Just not sure what color I should paint my calipers with. Red or black? I have Impluse Red but my wheels are flat black:

I wouldn't paint them but since you're asking, I'd go with a gunmetal or some sort of dark silver/grey.

They'll look like metal but will look fresh.

I think gold calipers behind black wheels would look huggin sweet on an impulse red truck!

    Basically something like this combination

Don't let these fellow losers, er, posters, dissuade you :D but realize paint may very well fail over time, as did mine despite all prepwork. finally opted for quality caliper covers, and satisfied. in the end, YOUR decision is utmost :)

gradually replacing the bumper with hairy bondo ;-)
I suppose they might, but it's hardly limited to them. A fart can exhaust is the mod that says "ricer" to me (unless we are all ricers because we drive a Japanese truck, which is where the forb/cheby/bodge/barely-fergusons of the world lump us), usually associated with other clever mods like fake carbon fiber decals, etc...

Painting underparts {at all | bright colors} is a mod with broader appeal, IMHO. And yes, it may fail - then again, so does wheel paint, looking at my factory original paint on my wheels, what little there is of it - so you re-do it, or it reverts to the rusty crap it is now.

call me a ricer if you want (the truck is japanese afterall) but my calipers are red.

yeah, the paint will break down over time but I'm pretty sure you can get off your butt and touch them up if necessary......just sayin.

If you have to paint your stock calipers, do it right and powder coat them. At least they'll look half way decent.

Colored calipers are only for aftermarket (upgraded) calipers, in my opinion.

previously painted my calipers, in a considered quality paint, and the paint failed within 6 months. now runnin' caliper covers in a custom powder-coat modded caliper cover. the difference is night and day.

Not a ricer mod, IMO. Just something for visual appeal, nothing more and nothing wrong with that. Same as having blue/red/whatever coilovers. You'll see little touches like that on ANY vehicle.

    Ricer?

You should have used matching orange zip ties to hold your blinkers in place...

...would have been totally killer rice, man.
