    From what I read Georgia has never held it over their heads either? I see 2 pre-crystal ball "championships."
    1942 – 11–1 Georgia was chosen as champion by at least half of the recognized polls.
    And then in 1980, there were other undefeated teams. But just like anymore it is all about the polls. And teams like Pittsburgh weren't in the running because of the bigger named teams.

    And Oregon should have been in a few more, namely the 2001/02 season. They were ranked #2 but got passed over for the NC because of some BS? When Oregon started playing well (since 96) they have been shut out of the NC twice due to "rankings" and then yes they lost in 2010.
