How long until the 17" is available? I'm definitely interested in a sub 20 lb wheel.

Thank you! The 5-spoke design will actually be a 16" though, not a 17". The second wheel I posted will be the 17x9" wheel.

Here's the additional info I have about the 17"

The 17" wheel should be available in August. The 16" wheel is confirmed to be sub-20lbs, but he 17x9" wheel that I posted will be somewhere in the 19lbs - 23lbs range (exact weight will be recorded once the wheels arrive). This is is still light weight in comparison to similar wheels on the market, and also, this wheels is 9" wide (many wheels are 8" or 8.5" wide), and the load rating is 955KG or greater (very strong).

I'll be picking up a set of those 17's.

I would consider buying the Advanti wheels.

I remember reading some where that the 18" FN BFD wheel was 22.5 lbs. The 17" hopefully will be a little lighter. I just picked up a new Taco and was going to wait until the tires wear out (which will take a while) and buy the 18". This is exciting news that the 17" version is coming out soon!!! I might as well just buy them and swap the OEM tires. Early birthday present here I come. Thanks!!!!!

Thanks guys! I will keep everyone posted!

It is possible that the 17" will be the same weight (not lighter) than the 18". This wheel is very similar to the BFD, but it's not the same as the BFD. The BFD is a counter-pressure cast wheel, which makes it lighter and stronger than most 16" or 17" wheels, even though it is an 18" wheel. However, I am pretty sure that this 17" will not exceed 22-23lbs per wheel, and it is possible that it will be lighter once all is said done. The load rating of the new 17x9" will be 955KG (2,100lbs) as well, so it will be plenty strong. I will definitely keep you posted.

Please see above post, and also I have pm'ed you additional info. :)Thanks!

    Hi Everyone,

    I just received some updates:

    1) The new 17x9" 6-spoke wheel that looks similar to the Konig Countersteer and the FN Wheels BFD will be available within 2 weeks.

    2) The new 16x8" 5-spoke wheel is in production now, and it will be available to purchase in 45-60 days. New photos coming soon!

Weight is a big selling point for you guys, perhaps posting the weights in the OP of your thread will avoid people asking later. Just a thought

Love these wheels man, will let you know when I'm ready to order those 16"s (got suspension done today :D)

Thanks for the heads up. :) I am aware of that as well, as weight is important to me too. I am waiting until the final production piece arrives to post a weight. I'll put the wheels on a USPS scale, so the weights will be very accurate. =) As you know, most of the wheels I am associated with are among the lightest and strongest in the price range.

I'm glad you like the wheels, and I'm looking forward to getting a set out to you soon too!

As promised, here are some photos of the new 17x9's that arrived today (sorry for the photo quality, I had to take the photos in the late afternoon sunlight):

^It's very difficult to accurately portray bronze in photos. The color is a sandy, metallic-grey bronze. It looks great against dark colors, red, blue, and white (not so much silver in my opinion - I'd go with graphite or matte black on silver).

The weight of this particular wheel is 22.7lbs. I've been informed that this was the lightest weight possible while still maintaining the specs of 17x9" 0mm offset (5" back spacing), proper hub height for excellent brake clearance, 955KG + load rating (2,100lbs +), and JWL-T / VIA approval from Japan.

For comparison, stock 17x7.5" Tacoma alloy wheels are just under 29lbs each, and the stock 16" wheels are 23lbs - 30lbs each depending on the model of 16" wheels you have.
