There you go. So instead of complaining about Toyota engine he should have complained about jiffyLube and Fram filter. ;)
EDIT: I did not know there are white FRAM filters. to my defense, never been to JiffyLube.

Especially not when you can get 20 OEM Toyota filters online for $85 and be good for the next 100,000 miles.

My job has a V6 Tundra. That engine is BADASS ! It's an automatic with sport shifter so you can control the up and down shifts. We beat the crap out of that poor truck . Still runs strong!!! His engine sounds like he didn't grease the muffler bearing .

    Alright Guys....

I wonder why there's always so much heat (or hate) from people with new users.

1st. I DO participate in other forums, look up my user name on www.mbworld.org and tundrasolutions.com, In mbworld I do participate a lot, did a few high ranked DIY and got recognition. On tundra solutions I barely participate because of my V6, but already have 4 likes and 70 posts, trying always to help whoever needs help in something I know.

2nd. I do not own a tacoma. But I do own a truck that has a tacoma engine and transmission, 95% of tundra owners have the V8, 80%+ tacoma owners have the V6. SO I found myself most of the time looking at tacoma forums to read things and find answers to most of my drivetrain questions. I don't see nothing wrong on that.

3rd. I thought you guys would like to share information about what have been seen before in these engines with those noises. I only see 1 reply that is interesting, the one that says he worked in a dealer and saw this a few times. I would love to know what caused this on those trucks.

Oil filter? Its a chinese crap the dealer at toyota of orlando installed last time, should I complaint about that? How do I know if it was the filter and not a defect in the engine? How can I proof toyota that the filter caused this?

Another thing that shocked me is that toyota only offers 60k miles powertrain warranty. While mercedes benz offers standard 100k miles powertrain warranty, so does suzuki and many other car makers. Isn't toyota covering them up from usual failures like this? Its just my opinion.

Here you go with a few pictures of my truck, in my home driveway, with my suzuki behind it.

    IMG_0451.jpg

    Answering another questions:

    Q. Why do I have the dealer paper mat?

    R. The truck was at the dealer the day before to install the fog lights kit.

    -----

    Q. wonder why he wont write back

    R. I live in Orlando, FL. Thats eastern time... I was sleeping when I got the email with the replies compilation from tacomaworld.

    -----

COMMENT. There you go. So instead of complaining about Toyota engine he should have complained about jiffyLube and Fram filter.

REPLY. Dude, I'm not complaining about the toyota engine, I'm just sharing my bad experience with toyota in general. This might or might not have been caused by an engine defect or a filter issue, that's what I'm trying to know.

    -----

COMMENT. you dont 'love' your truck, you take care of your truck. first-don't buy crappy oil filters at the swap meet.

REPLY. I dont love a car. I love my wife and kids. I did put some love to my truck because I wanted to take the best care of it possible. I did all services at the dealer.

    -----

COMMENT. Ya... the vid appears to be in a driveway, and I suppose the towing driver could have placed it there....

REPLY. The car was left by the driver in front of my villa. Like 800 yards from my home, drove the truck carefully and slowly to my driveway. the truck even did had enough power to jump into the hauling truck without aids. It was just making the noise, not failing.

    ------

COMMENT. Sorry to hear man. Toyota'a quality has been slipping for a while now.

Reply. Thanks for your comment, just before the heat began and everyone was throwing stones on me,

    --------

COMMENT. So you supposedly have a Tundra that blew it's engine, and you decided to take the time to create a brand new user ID on a Tacoma forum JUST to tell us about the blown up Tundra?

REPLY.. this guy is the beginning of the heat. Will ignore his comment. Go lookup my username on google dude.

    ----------

    Q. OP, can you provide us more details? Length and Miles you've owned the vehicle for? Did you tow? Accidents? I'm personally abusing the shit out of my engine s/c's and with other performance parts. So far only had a valve cover leak, which when I pulled out the factory gasket I could see why, it was a bad mold. And even that didn't start leaking till I was over a 100,000 km's.

    A. I've owned the vehicle for 20k miles, but the original owner gave me all the supports of service at the dealer in Miami, then I did everything at the dealer in Orlando. Never tow a thing, its a V6. Never had any accidents, everything is completely stock, even the coolant is stock. No aftermarket parts besides the grill and handle chrome covers.

    REMEMBER GUYS.

In mercedes benz forums, it is usual to talk about engine and drivetrain things at different vehicles forums. Why? Because a SLK uses the same engine as a C class, but there are not enough information about SLK in their forums because there are just a few of those around, while the C class is a best selling...

    SO
Do not look at the name of the truck, look at the name of the engine.

that sucks man. lighten up guys. he came here to see if we had a issue like this with our 4.0L and I've seen 4.0's with rod knock with less miles but it was due to the engine oil being low.
I'm guessing it's not under a extended warrenty. correct? I would call toyota and tell them the problem you're having and that you where in for service on xx/xx/2012 and see what they have to say. You might be surprised. Good luck man.

You have to dilute the acid anyway and it will eat motor. It will clean bricks up nice. Don't get it on concrete either.

Hey nice Kizashi. I have a Tacoma, and my wife has a Kizashi. Have owned many Suzukis, and never had any major problems. I am dealing with a very quiet squeek in the Kizashi coming from the right rear when I go over bumps. It sounds like the whistling your nose sometimes makes when you are stuffed with a cold. It's one of those annoying noises that goes away when you take it to the dealer, and reappears as soon as you drive away.

Sorry to hear about your Tundra. :( Take it to the dealer and see if they will do anything for you. I had an air conditioning pipe crack on me in a Suzuki XL-7. It was $600 for the part alone, and the vehicle was way past warranty. Suzuki covered the cost of the repair, parts and labour, on a "good will" program.:)

I would call the regional service rep and explain what's going on and tell them about your service and how the dealer delt with you on the phone. There's a reason this happend and of course the dealer is goin to do what they can to pass blame. everyone has a boss. might just need to go alittle higher up the chain
