    I will be getting a new Tacoma by the end of October and I will be purchasing Ome lift and new uca's with 285s on 17x9 wheels. My question is what is a realistic price for getting this installed? Any info will be helpful. Thanks.

    Ask the dealer if they can install the lift when the truck comes in, might be able to get it cheaper

    Get a couple friends together and your install price could be a case of beer and a couple pizzas. :)

    If you are going to have a shop do it, plan on:
    $10 - 15/wheel for mounting and balancing = $50
    Alignment = $75
    3 - 4 hours of labor = $275 - 400

    A shop that is used to seeing lift components and working with them should be cheaper because they'll know what they're doing. Your price could vary depending on if you're doing a complete leaf pack replacement vs. AAL, are the coils assembled on the shocks or will the shop have to do it, extended brake lines required, etc.

    If a shop were to install the lift, I'd plan on spending in the neighborhood of $500 +/-.

    Yea I may check with my cousin and he may be able to help me with it but if not I'm probably going to have to go to a shop to get it done. But $500-$600 is about what I expected.

    A friend of mine that owns a shop told me the going rate in town here was $250 for the OME lift. I almost fell over. WTF?

    Considering how much more expensive everything seems to be in Canada, I would have thought your shop rate would be higher. Stealership shop rates here are around $100/hr. Local shops can be as little as half that though.

    Yup, He has a 4x4 shop and doesn't do alignments.

    Yeah I still wouldn't trade the experience you get by doing it yourself though.

    oddly, for nearly everything I've got quotes for (tires, shocks, etc.) the dealership is the cheapest.

    Not everyone is comfortable with what's involved to install it
