now if your cooler contents bounces out its a hop...and if the whole cooler bounces out its a jump...

what about hitting a washboard road hard enough to bounce the cooler out?

or bouncing up a hill fast enough to bounce the entire contents of your bed onto the trail?

I would just make sure you don't really want a full size truck. I think that Tacoma is about the best mid sized truck there is. Those Frontiers don't look half bad though : )

I love the availability of those interior luxury options and the look of the FX4.
The rear seats seem almost as big as the DC and it's an AC.

This is the only regret I have. Other than that, I am completely happy with the Tacoma. Best. Truck. Ever.

I traded my 2008 Nissan Titan in for the Tacoma. Sometimes I regret it. Like when I have 4 people I miss the extra room. The Titan rode way smoother. V8 power (and gas milage). Im sure people won't like me saying this but I think the Titan was maybe built with a little more quality in mind. Overall though I prefer my Tacoma.

I bought my 08 AC TRD Off Road in May of 09 with 16,000 miles on it, and now it has 24,000 miles and I'm very happy with my purchase.

I arrived at the dealership with an 02 Mitsubishi Diamante that I had bought in May of 03 with 96,000 miles and some big problems. I think the trade in value was about $3,500, but the car was only worth about $1,000 because of the some damage and mechanical problems. I walked out with a 1 year old Tacoma and a loan for $21,000 after they gave me $3,500 for my old car anyway. Basically my old car paid the taxes, extended warranty and it knocked a little off the price tag of the truck.

So you don't have to pay $26,000 for a Taco in order to upgrade from your old truck. Look for a truck that is a couple years old, and negotiate yourself in to a good deal. I'm happy with my $23,000 purchase of a 1 year old truck.

My experience is that this is a very solid truck. I just moved from Kansas City to Austin in snow storms with a motorcycle in the bed of the truck and a full U-Haul trailer behind the Tacoma and it performed perfectly the entire time.

The only thing I regret was selling my 2003 M3 before I bought my truck. I didn't need to sell the Bimmer because fortunately it was paid off. I just wasn't driving it so thought that was the smart thing....until I no longer had it.

Everytime I see one on the road, I regret it. And that was 3 years ago. Haha...

I am really happy with my Tacoma. However, if money weren't an issue, I'd gone with a TRD sport package as well.

No regrets in the end. It was the right deal and the right truck for me and my family.

I dont regret my taco. However I would have done things differently. I would have done the gear and clutch upgrade sooner. I would have put sliders on before offroading. other than that I love my truck.
