STi has been gone for about 4 months.

Yeah, it's gas. 14:1 compression, direct injection and the auto tranny uses a set of clutches that basically replace the torque converter to reduce energy loss in that connection.

AND it runs on REGULAR. Piston design and some other tech removes the need for premium even at that high of compression.

So, been pretty busy this week. Haven't had the chance to upload any of the pictures/videos from the trip, but here's the damage report.

Keep in mind, I have only taken it to a Do-It-Yourself wash to get the initial mud layer off. It won't look quite as severe once I wash and polish it.

Not really, it was worth it for sure...It kinda goes with the territory and is to be expected. I just procrastinate when it comes to cleaning it.

Yes, yes it is. Believe me, my g/f has already let me know as well.

But again, if you plan on doing any sort of off-roading / challenging trails, this is one of the expected results.

I have been pricing out some Heavy-Duty 60 mil magnetic sheets to cut-out for each of the panels, so I can avoid so many pin-stripes next time. Similar to these, but not nearly as expensive and they don't make anything for Tacos (HiLux, FJ, Tundra...but no Taco).

There's also a company, MagnaShields, but I think they went out of business already, and they didn't make anything for Tacos either.

Most of the pin-striping was from 696 (I think). I believe it was called "Mud Springs" that wraps around the mountain. Pretty damn narrow in spots with some tight corners and bushy limbs.

The dent on the side is from not paying close-enough attention while coming down the wagon trail. There was a downed tree that tagged me pretty good.

The bumper tweak is from having to get off the trail for a group of (j)Heeps and from a rowdy hill-climb near the end of 696.

    Pics....
