I have searched on here and have not found a problem like mine. I have an 06 AC prerunner. One of my sensors has been out for a while. I took it in to a local shop today (where I get all of my tire stuff done) and they found that one of my sensors was actually broken in half. The replaced it with an aftermarket sensor. They used the programmer to make sure all were on the correct frequency and that all were at the 130 mhz. He can verify that all are synced but the truck is still not accepting them. He pushed the button and got the light to blink 3 times, drove it for a while, but the light still will not go out. It is a solid light right now. It is not blinking. Any ideas on why all 5 sensors are reading, but the error is not cleared on reset? Thanks

You have a communication problem most likely. Many different things can cause it. Sensor has low battery, stuck pressure reading, and etc. Since your truck is a 06, it could be a low battery.
I have a stuck pressure reading on mine which causes the system not to work.
When you start your truck----does you tpms light flash and then turn solid or is it solid all the time now?

You should change the batteries in your sensors every 5 years. Similar to your smoke alarm.

When I start my truck, the light is solid, flashes 1 time, and then goes back to solid. I have flipped the spare tire over so it is easily accessible. Everything is reading correctly, but for some reason it is not reading. I really do not want to go to the stealership.

Is there a how to on changing the batteries, and if so, where do I get the batteries. They are all putting out a signal at 130 mhz. Could the signal be weak because of low batteries?

Toyota will not tell me anything about the battery. What kind/size battery would I need?

I don't know. Maybe NAPA can help.

That is a standard lithium battery like the Cr2032, but not available through normal retail outlets.
It must have those tabs spot welded on during manufacture, and you have to remove the original battery and solder the tabs to the PC board.
Too much heat and you damage the new battery.

And of course, to get to the sensors, you have to break the bead on the tire.

disable TPMS all together. i did today, and i have no lights, and no sensors in my wheels, fawk yeah!

unclip the HVAC panel, (your a/c controls), just take a flathead screwdriver and pry it off, it will just pop off. then look into the little square hole, there will be a red box. grab the red box and pull it out. unplug the harness from the bottom of it and there is a solid light blue wire going into it. cut that wire. get a tap connector, and tie it into the red/white wire in the same harness, then plug the harness back into the red box. DO NOT CUT THE RED/WHI WIRE!! just tap into it for power. this adds power to the blue wire to shut the light off.

    works well!

I may have to try that. It beats spending a couple hundred for a light to go out.
