    hello tw,

once again i need some advise from the 2nd gen owners......

im sure this has been covered as to which one is the top favorite but i cant really find a definitive answer. so im asking you guys which brand you prefer.

this guy (my dads friend) has an 06 tacoma double cab trd 4x4 v6 auto and he wants more power.....he wants a CAI and headers and wants me to find him some and to do it.

so my question is which ones do you guys recommend, he is loaded so im not worried about the price, just the best for the dollar. any assistance would help thanks..

i recently just did a brake job for him, front powerslot, hawk pads, steel braided lines, rear shoe adjustment and fluid flush it turned out great....thanks to wolfpack_5150 and others.....:)

also he wants a front splash shield as well, something better then stock.

Yeah...If he wants a real kick in the pants and money isn't an issue get an S/C and the APR X-1.

Otherwise the DT headers with the TRD or URD CAI and the APR X-1 or the MAF Calibrator will do something....With the right tune via the APR X-1 even the stock motor can be a bit stronger.

Not attempting to hijack your thread but I just ordered the TRD CAI from http://www.toyotaterritory.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=1531 which will be here tomorrow. I've seen some mentioning of the URD MAF Calibrator in these forums and was hoping to get a little more information on this.

My buddy works at the Toyota dealership and is doing the install for me. He didn't mention anything about this MAF Calibrator..... is this something I need/have to have?

well guys i checked out some numbers.....was considering the URD CAI for 289 then the DT long tube headers for 550 then the URD Calibrator for for 210 for a total of 1050 not including tax shipping and labor do install it all...... my guess is around 1500 for everything.....now i found a S/C for around 3700 ......has any one installed a S/C through the dealership if so how much did everything cost and is there a big difference???

well if the dealership doesn't install it then the warranty is avoided, right.... if the dealership installs it then they do everything and you get all the necessary warranties right??

also why would i need to remove the S/C?? i think once its on its not coming off....and if they reflash the ecu cant the apr x-1 still be used???
