Hey guys I'm new to the Tacoma world and I'm located here in Albuquerque. Was wondering if there was any advice you could offer me. As I'm looking into purchasing a new or used Tacoma. It's really just depends on the price. I found a used 2009 4x4 DC TRD package used with 49,000 mi. Now that doesn't seem like a lot butlike I said I'm new to tacomas and would appreciate any advice.

    Dumb.... lol :annoyed:

Welcome! Taco's, if taken care of, will last you for ever. Are you buying it from a private seller or a dealer? Good luck!

It is the Off-Road package. I know there are little differences but are they substantial to the price?

Thanks! I called up there to talk about getting a 2013 Baja TX in that color when they come out. Dude calls back and says they had that truck for a steal, they are trying to clear inventory and some good incentives this month. Hard to beat a great price, my buddy picked up a TRD Off Road for $1000 more from the same dealer just a few months ago. Right now my only plans for upgrades are an OME lift and some bumpers, I like the TX Pro wheels, so I probably won't upgrade them unless I see something really cool. Reading this damned forum is going to make me go broke, I always see stuff I want.

At least you're happy.... What would you suggest.. a CIA or the deck plate mod? I know I have a 4 banger but I want it sounding like a truck... lol

Ok thanks man. Is there anything that I should look at specifically on these 2nd gen trucks? Have they had any real problem areas?

For future reference: Are there any places locally that can install the OME lift? Any ideas how much it would cost? I live in an apartment and don't have the tools to put all the stuff on.

Hey, buddy.... The deck plate mod is for 1st gens only! :p  It would not be beneficial for a 2nd gen.... Get a CAI. ;)

It's sad that driving up to Denver to get a truck is $3000 cheaper and the same sales tax (based on residence) as here. I can't comprehend buying a vehicle here anymore, the dealerships here all have prices wayyyy to high. Pay the tax and go get your truck from a dealer without stupid high prices.
