    Yeah.
Yep, I am right next to there. I am in what used to be known as Grover, off 109 south of Manchester Rd. One daughter at Eureka HS and another at Wildwood MS.

Guess I need to do some better research on those trails so I don't get myself in trouble.

Does anyone on the Denver side plan to come over this way anytime soon?

Yeah, it would be good to go with at least one more vehicle too. Not much else would suck as bad as being stuck miles away from anywhere with no cell service.

I went to Eureka... small world

There is a guy that lives up in summit county somewhere. He has ads on Craigslist frequently. When I search Tacoma in the Denver area he usually comes up with an ad for sliders or off road bumpers. I wish I could remember his name or number. He has a first gen, so much of his stuff is designed for that, but he said he has made stuff for second gens and would again. His sliders are simple, but beefy looking. My bro and I are looking into a way to make some sliders out of thick sheet steel. Hopefully that will make them reduce clearance the minimum amount, but steel sheets that thick are expensive and it's hard to bend without EXPENSIVE equipment. I like the way these guys did these. see post 143 for a good pic.

Edit- I found one of his ads

Oh he does, maybe I was getting him mixed up with someone else. Have you seen these sliders in person? Like I said, simple, but beefy-looking.

No I talked to him on the phone, but his sliders aren't exactly what I want. Want some with a little bit of a kick out and not quite as low profile as those. Something like CBI's

Anything interesting happening around these parts?

The past few weeks have been pretty crazy over here. Just got back from camping on the beach. You guys wouldn't believe the amount of road kill over here. Wallabies left and right!

The cars here are starting to grow on me (the trucks more specifically). I never realized the Hilux had a disel.....Also lots of bad ass land cruisers old pick-ups!

That's the taco in the tough truck challenge. Yeah that slider design is awesome but like you stated it's expensive to build. Not to mention the weight.
Interesting design. It looks like that second small rail mounts to the pinch weld? I wonder why he went that route? Have you reached out to Scotty at Addicted Off Road?
Bring me home a hilux would you? Sounds like you are having a great time. Just make sure to give your bike bell to the designated rider when you are out drinking. :)

Call Scott at addicted and drive to Greeley to pick them up. I ran his sliders on my 92, and on my runner.

In reference to that Loren guy...

Those are the sliders that Mike had. I have them in my garage right now actually. Al I have to say is Mike cut them off to put BAMF ones on. I know he asked for one thing and got something different. Plus they are way too short.

I am looking at either trailgear from addicted or sawtooth. But, in the one pic he has online "sawtooth" they look like the bend on the tubing has a flattened area. ? I'm still looking though.

    Yeah.
Unfortunately my buddy's 2WD Frontier would be more of a liability than insurance, but maybe we'll hook up with someone at the ranch we're staying at.

I didn't realize there are 2 "Wheeler" trails: I am talking about going to Wheeler Geologic Area, not Wheeler Lake. TrailDamage rates Wheeler Lake as a 5 to 7, and pictures make it look pretty hairy. I wouldn't try that alone or without a lift, armor and recovery equipment.

They have Wheeler Geologic Area as a 3 out of 10, which seems reasonable to try in a stock TRD OR as long as it doesn't get too wet. Thoughts?

Anyone been to the top of Bristol Head? That one doesn't look as bad.

Yeah Addicted sounds like a good bet. Devin why not get em welded on by Scotty while I'm up there. Does he charge way too much or somethin?

Because Chris welds that's why it was much cheaper. I love the addicted sliders. Just a slight kick out at the end.
