It definitely had some heat, but the combination of cheese and sauce helped mellow it to a tolerable level.

    It was really really good.

All three of those look great!!! Even the sign in the last post makes me think there shit is on time. I'm still reeling from all the post concerning 5 ****, maybe mine just sucks ass, I'd rather have a Hardee's/Carl Junior's thick burger ANY DAY, (I'm not saying a thick burger is worthy of this thread) but Five Guys sucks ball sweat, again, at least mine/ours does.

This is so much food porn!

I like 5 Guys for fast food style burgers, and a place in Oakland called True Burger that also has beer, Twinkie milkshakes, and McDonald's style fries.

(I don't like In N Out fries for some reason.)

The best burger I've ever had (though not cheap!) is at Sidebar in Oakland, and they'll actually cook it rare and top it with thick-cut bacon, a fried egg, and nice fat tomato slices. Also they have a great selection of bourbon.

They're decent, I'd say between micky d's and five guys as far as quality goes.

The green chili they use is awesome though.

Local place here makes a 3/4 pound kim chee burger.
Kim chee is worked in with the meat, then cooked (takes almost a half hour, since they make the patty as you order it)

juiciest burger, salty browned, somewhat sweet on the inside

Lots of good stuff and I do sometimes miss In-N-Out since leaving the SW years ago. However in Wisconsin we have a local chain called Culvers, their double butter burger is the best fast food burger I've had. Not exactly sure where the butter comes in but its there....

However, the 1st and 2nd best overall can be found in Sault Ste Marie, MI. Home of West Pier and Clyde's Drive In's. Both serve up near perfect cheeseburgers. WP's standard burger is 1/2# and Clyde's has the Big-C which is two 1/3# patties.

Sadly, you will not find that on the menu...
It was a one-off creation for a special guest.

But if properly motivated I might be willing to recreate it.
