it really really is! starting to piss me off. for the fact that all state will want stricter gun laws. but don’t take in to account that bad guys don’t give a FU** about laws. also proves that shootings can happen any where!!

Its tragic, but gun control isn't the answer. Take away all the guns and criminals will resort to other weapons. You can machine your own gun in a decent shop. What we really need is more people carrying guns so we can blast a cap in these criminals.

Know why people 20 years older than us don't say stuff like this? Because they made it through the 60s and 70s. Those of us who were teens in the '90s have had it squishy. Our first memories of war are the first Iraq war, which wasn't much of one in the grand scheme of things. The LA riots were big news because they were an outlier, not the norm. We don't know what a draft is. We've never seen 15% interest.

Point is - things have been worse, much worse, and will be again. It's cyclic.

I'm not holding my breadth on mass CCP, but it "could" happen in the event of an all out nationwide riot.

    +1 well said...

...texting, video games, and "hollywierd" values, has produced a generation of folks wholly unprepared for the suck...

i've been watching a series on PBS called "the war", ..it's about the lives of folks in WWII - you wouldn't believe the suck many folks, in the war and at home, had to go through...

So the blanket answer is "CCP is the solution, Id kill that guy". While I agree and if I found myself in an active shooter sit. I too would move to find an route to assualt the shooter if possible I think a responce or reactive measure is far from the solution. What we need to ask is WHY. To say its just derps is not adiquite. Everywhere has derps but America has one of the highest gun violence rates of competeing countries. Why. What in our culture allows or develops this as an answer to social issues. We need to look at all pop culture. Music, Movies, TV, Social "Coolness" and other things we view as acceptable. We need to allow a certain degree of acceptable violence (a fight back in the day at school was not a expellable offense and problems ended with that). We need to relook at parenting. We need to fix our society as a whole. How do we do this I have no idea but these shootings are just a sign of the social decline of our country and to say "Shoot the guy' is not a fix. I am terrified to see what my children will grow up in. What drove this guy to this. Case in point, I have trained many kids to kill an enemy in combat. Almost half have hesitated during their first contact, weather that is to shoot without aiming or just to pause. If, even with training one hesitates in a war then why would a person not hesitate in a civilian enviorment. There has to be some sort of mental preperation for this and what drove him to that point. Any takers??

I've lived through gas lines around the block.

Got up at 5am and drove with dad down to put the car in line. He'd walk home, have breakfast, then come back and sit in the car while I walked back and got ready for school.
If he was lucky, the station still had gas by the time he got to the pump and he could drive to work.

If not, he had to take TWO vacation days because they were rationing gas and we could only buy gas on odd days (both cars had plates that ended in odd numbers). By 10am, there was no gas to be had... the stations were sold out and closed until the next delivery truck showed up.

This wasn't WWI ancient history... this was the 1970s.

Inflation was double digits, unemployment was double digits, and to try to calm inflation, the fed jacked interest rates to double digits.
They created the "misery index" to factor those 3 numbers into one "life sucks" number.
