My vote would be a regular cab tacoma 4x4. Skip the 6 inch lift and just go with a really high quality 3 inch. or maybe 4 inches if you can find a custom shop that will make it work (custom shackles etc....). Then cover that bastard in armor, budbuilt or Unbreakable (dont use Allpro, that would just encourage hodgies whorish tendencies) and if you really want to get crazy you can swap out the 4 cylinder for a 4.7 tundra engine or do a diesel conversion. Add some good tires, some good lights and you got yourself a badass trail rig. I also liked the rack on the dealer truck. mount that badboy on there and throw a spare tire up there and surround it in lights so you can get a clear look around you at night. then let me drive it for you

btw, i have very few pics of my truck. if you have any i'd love to have them.

wow, no single shot of me and the group shot is before i even got in the line up. whats up man? oh..... i get it.... you're jealous because Mike got to hump me and you didn't. I'm sorry Chad, next time i'll make sure you get your turn ;)

silver is for sissies. why do you think they make girls jewelry out of it?

    amen brotha!

i haven't looked at how the 2nd gen altenator mounts, but i wonder if you could make a shield for it. for example, take some duct metal and drill some small holes in it for water drainage but not big enough to let huge chunks of dirt and rock in then wrap it with that. like i said, i haven't messed with my altenator yet but you have. based on how its mounted would that work?

x2 on calling Justin at Unbreakablefab and seeing what he can do for you! plus budbuilt is right around the corner from him

a high quality set of adjustable coilovers and an aal in the rear plus maybe some fender trimming will take you as far as any 6inch drop bracket lift...and be less tippy

thats why i was wondering if you drilled a shit ton of small holes in it and wrapped all the way around if it would work. the holes would let it breath and drain water but keep the majority of the shit out. no idea if it would work but i'm kinda curious

aw come on! what if i give you a fig newton?

I pick-up my Vatozone alternator tomorrow and then change it out in the RHT parking lot.

Actually I'll keep them in mind for later. If I could find a non-tow package alternator I could ship out to him and he'll rewrap the coil for a 180-190A output for prolly around $150. If I had more time I might go the junkyard route for an alternator and then get it rebuilt. Autozone will have my 130A alternator tomorrow for 180 beans so I can get out of my wife's mustang and I might get my old alternator rebuilt and keep it as a spare since there's no core charge. Maybe I'll just replace the brushes myself. I dunno.

I'm disappointed but not entirely surprised that Rick Hendrick wouldn't replace the alternator under warranty since my Kansas dealership did 2 idler pulleys and a shift actuator on a truck completely coated in nature.

    I hate mud.

Hopefully next time we hit URE I'll be on new tires and sliders. But breakage doing stupid stuff makes me want to focus on my expedition build :/
