Decided to go camping yesterday, and took the dogs down to the river.

They loved it! It was PERFECT in the 90°+ heat. My littlest guy (6 months/6.5lbs) jumped off a log into a deep pool, he learned how to swim pretty quick at that point.

ive been outside cutting up firewood, just smaller stuff that doesn't need to be split and just caught my finger in the chainsaw. it stings a bit, but so far not bad. not much blood pouring out. just got it wrapped in a papertowel and electrical tape.

been there, done that and it sucked. stupidest i ever did was work 10 hour nightshift, 2 hour break, 9 hour day shift, 2.5 hour break, then tried for another 10 hour nightshift after that. i fell asleep on the job about 2 hours before quitting time on that second nightshift.

another time, i did 10 hour nightshift, 2 hour break, 10 hour dayshift, then turn around and try to drive across washington that night. i think i may have had a dayshift before that too. its stupid to try to work so many hours consecutively.

 Geez you are lucky. Buddy's dad was working on his chain saw and it jumped and barely grazed his ankle. Went right through his leather boot and tore up stuff in his ankle. He had to get a couple surgeries.

the top of the bar cleanly cut about 1/2" of my finger open. it wasn't too bad though. i just wish i had some super glue sitting around to cover this up. it has hardly bled, probably from wrapping it right away, to the point that i cut off circulation after a few min. i have since unwrapped it.

to make you feel worse about me, i was running my chainsaw in shorts, sandals, and a t-shirt. this is the first injury i have had from running any chainsaw. all it takes is being smart enough to know how the machine operates, and staying the hell out of its way.

Will, we should get together sometime and have some beer. i have heard that beer helps to improve driving skills, and help keep body temperatures down in this hot weather. it also makes for better modifications on trucks.

San diego...might as well be part of mexico. i went to visit my brother there about a year ago, and it was way too hot there. i now refer to my older brother as a north mexican.

If you thought San Diego was hot, try going an hour east to the deserts.

Inland Los Angeles gets pretty toasty as well, I'd say it's definitely hotter in most parts of LA than San Diego. Most of San Diego typically gets a slight coastal breeze, most of LA does not.

i have a better idea. i'll stay here in WA where i complain about heat when it gets to 80, and leave that fiery hell known as california alone.
