So you're in the market for a truck, a dealer shows you a 2010 for $23,500 you leave and come back and truck is sold. But the dealer says to to you, i have the same truck but its a 2009 for the same price $23,500. Do you buy it without questioning why its the same price even though it is technically a uear older?

I just bought a 2012 T|X Pro for much less than MSRP and much less than I have ever seen before. Dealerships are starting to push them off the lots, so you get a better deal. Also, more information is available on the 2012s, so any kinks that exist can be worked either through TSBs or others' experiences. Not to mention all the modifications and goodies that are confirmed to work on 2012s, even minor changes might effect that in a 2013.

Thank you everyone for your responses and views on the issue. I have started looking at lots and will start getting my game plan today to visit 5 or so stealerships in my area this weekend. I appreciate all the great views from different stand points. I have seen some newbs get fried on more than one occassion here on TW and didn't want to be "that guy".
Hope to contribute more to the forum once i official join the tacoma club
    thanks.

    Too few to list.
I'm sure the dealer is much more willing to negotiate for the remaining 2012 and you'd probably get a great deal. Like everyone already said, I don't think there would be much difference between 12 and 13 models. After negotiating the price and before signing, don't forget to include the rear leaf tsb in the deal!

Here is a good point to add into the negotiations. Negotiate into the deal that you want any and all accessories (wheels, supercharger, etc.... Anything) that you purchase now or in the future are priced at $1 over dealer cost. This will save you some nice coin !

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I think you should wait for the 2020. I just sounds cool and is easier to type.

Just negotiated on a base model double cab 4x4. Only option is all-weather floor mats and door sill protector. Yes, it has the vinyl floor like the FJs which I really like.

    MSRP: $28,360

Invoice: $26,510.00 (including destination of $810)

    My price is $25,813.

Also, just went to Edmunds.com and valued my 2007 Double Cab Sport 4x4 and will likely accept the dealership's offer of $270 over "Dealer Retail" value for my truck.

Yes, it's a VERY good time to buy a new 2012 Tacoma, and from my research there will be no difference between these and the 13s.

    Good luck!

if you can wait, get a 2012 at the end of the year when the 2013's are on the lot. There wont be any difference in the two...

Just ordered a 2013 V6 AC with Sport package. Was going to go with the 2012 but dealer gave me invoice. Excited to see what the new touch screen looks like. She should get here mid September.

Settle for 2012. I got my truck when the dealer was clearing the lot of the 2010's and I got a really really good deal...especially since they put the wrong tag on my truck. ;) :D

You took the words out of my mouth. Your getting an amazing truck either way you go. Settling would be for 2nd best and there is really no difference between the trucks. Also you might get a better deal on a 2012.
