I've been looking at all the available nerf bars/side steps for my 2012 DBL SB and am having trouble making a decision. I'm looking for a set that don't stick out too much but still provide a place to step and some protection form morons in parking lots. Really like the Iron Cross HD steps and the N-Fab bars, anyone got an opinion, pics, or advice?

Now I'm torn between the Avid step bars and sliders, LOL. Both look great and the price seems good even though ya gotta paint em. Alright, Avid vs. Iron Cross, whats everyone think?

You never mentioned you were considering sliders before

Wasn't until I saw the Avid ones and more importantly the price. Iron cross HD steps are more like badass running boards.

not an easy decision considering the amount of options out there.

FYI , the Avid bolt ons are NOT sliders , they are step bars , shaped like sliders that bolt into the factory running board mounting locations in the bottom of the cab floor , they will not support the truck's weight

The Avid weld ons are indeed sliders , they weld onto the truck frame and can support the vehicle weight

OZ-T : Yeah, I read that on their website but thanks for the heads up. Not sure if want to weld anything to a truck that hasn't even hit 1k miles yet. Wonder if it would have any affect in my warranty....
