Florida B.S. Thread

Just washed and waxed the taco. Got most of my stripping from Ocala off even the plastic mirrors. Meguiars was great and their plastic wax took the crap off the mirrors.

 

The black thing to the left in the pic is your tranny pan, to the right is your oil pan. I am still interested in the timing cover or possibly the front crank seal cause you can tell the oil is coming from the front of the engine. Try to get me more pics please.

Where should I take the pics? I looked at what I thought was the timing cover but didn't see any oil. I only have a crapberry camera so I didnt want to overload the thread with low res pics.

The crankshaft seal has had a leak before that was fixed 26K ago, hope that isn't back as it was expensive. More pics when the monsoon outside ends.

Forgot to post this pic, its a little less blurry. This is the area where I can see the most visible oil.

See if this pic helps you locate where to look for the timing cover leak.

 

hah, mine must have been leaking for a while.....the entire front of my engine is black. no silver left. keeps my pulleys lubed though

 

From the pics doesn't look like the oil pan is leaking.. idk if toyota has a lower pan and a upper pan or just the black pan. But do toyota's have a inspection cover in the bellhousing to see up in the rear main seal area?

 

sweet! i washed and waxed mine tonight. went down to moms work and pulled truck inside. may have to get some of that plastic wax.

 

Tacoma rear mains dont leak (2nd gen at least)
