That looks like MFS or Silver Bear. All I shoot is Russian and it does the job I ask of it. I would rather pay .20/round than .35-.40 for ammo that does the same thing.

Only issue with steel is that it is typically lacquered. I don't have experience with Silver Bear, so idk if it is or not. We have Hornady steel at the shop, which has a poly coat. Much more reliable than lacquer. But still, not the same

So what ever happened with that bitch that went on a campaign about your "obscene" storefront sign?
Did she get tired and give up, or did you get her on harassment?

LOL, how did you hear about that? That was before my time, but If I remember correctly, it was the owner of Elliot's Natural Foods, which is right next door to us basically. She was upset because there is a little billboard next to the street that has the names of the businesses in the center on it, and apparently our rifle was pointing at their name. We were there first, and we got the side that was closest to the street.

    People are dumb.

Not bad. We are getting a set of JD lowers with our logo etched into it, and with our own serial numbers. So I am definitely getting one of those. I have a Gesseile Super 3 Gun trigger in mine with the 3.5lbs spring, Surefire MB556K Muzzle Break, Daniel Defense Bolt Carrier Group, (Daniel defense barrel soon) with a Magpul CTR stock, all sitting in a JD upper/lower set.

    LOL!

That's funny. I saw her postings showing the actual storefront and her ranting about how the rifle was obscene and offensive to the nice neighborhood.

The topic came up on Calguns every time she renewed her assault.

She should have been happy that your rifle was directing people to her store :D

LOL yeah. A lot of the people in the neighborhood have had issues with the fact that there is a gun store so close... WTF? If shit hits the fan, you should be GLAD there is a gun store. You know we will protect that ass.

People are the definition of retarded man. Get used to it. haha

Ya... When the bank robbers were blasting away with AKs and drum mags, who saved the cops' collective asses since they were only armed with Glocks and 12ga at the time?

    The local gun shop.

Still couldn't provide them with anything automatic, but at least they got some decent semi-autos and ammo that could reach out and touch someone more effectively than buckshot and 9mm.

AHHGGG, I feel for you guys in Cali. Listening to the talk of gun control in that state makes my head spin. I live in Texas and we can basically buy and shoot any civilian appropriate weapon thats out there. I'm not very well read on gun laws, so I can't speak intelligently, but I feel for you Cali guys, but I have a solution.....

Move to Texas! There is plenty of wide open space to shoot and cost of living is a fraction of that in Cali! Ergo, More money for ammo.

BTW, I just bought my first AR15. Its a Sig Sauer M400 Enhanced. Its nowhere near as nice as many of the guns I've seen on here, but I like it and it seems to throw the lead in the right direction. Also....wait for it Cali guys......IT CAME WITH A 30 ROUND CLIP!!

Don't know if you bought your weapon yet or not, but this is a pretty solid gun. They are selling for $849 in Texas right now, but getting hard to find. I almost bought the flat-top version of this for $799, but ended up spending a little more and getting the Sig Sauer M400 as it came dressed with better furniture and felt a little more solid. The Windhams felt like GREAT guns for the $$$. Good luck.

also, the talking heads of the interwebs are saying the Windham is a no go. The owner is the pervious owner of either DPMS or Bushmaster (cant remember off the top of my head) and their quality is sub par.

No personal experiance, just repeating what I have read several times on a few different forums.

Interesting, because I've heard the complete opposite of that, but, as you, I have no personal experience with the gun. They are the former owners of Bushmaster and supposably have re-opened the original factory with many of the original employees and are turning out Pre-Remmington Quality guns. Not sure if that is good or not, but I've heard from others that older Bushmasters are great guns? Just food for thought. The Windhams also have a fully transferrable lifetime warranty, which is kind of cool.

Needless to say, he needs to go check it out and make his own decision, but always good to get the opinions of others.
