Thanks mike! Didn't see the new thread yet but I'll keep a eye out! Sadly I have a shoot Friday and Saturday so unless you guys are out on Sunday I'll miss yet another run.

I have known about this for a couple years now. The KOH area is the one that will be affected. They have been talking about it for a while.
But hopefully Bessimir mine rd. ( soggy dry lake) will still be open. But who knows. Our gov. would shut down everything if they had their way.

the government has already bought out homeowners and are acquiring privately owned homes and land parcels prior to the actual land takeover.

almost..wont be long. also something to note, after the land takeover. its rumored that the BLM will have to redisegnate the remaining land from "open access" to restricted. that will make many trails closed off possibly affecting desert racing in the region as a whole!!!!!!!

No, but it probably will be one day. I have been fighting this fight since the mid-90's when i raced motocross and desert on dirtbikes. Our deserts will be taken away from us in our lifetime probably.

The Liberals, environmentalists and gov. do not want us there.
I have seen over 15 dirtbike areas close since i was in highschool.
We have to speak up or it will be lost :(

They dont make any money off the land. Only from tickets. When was the last time you paid an entry fee in Lucerne?
It cost a ton of $$$ to have BLM and government officials run it.

If We lose johnson valley BLM will have no choice by law to redesignate Barstow Main, LucerneValley and all of the other surrounding areas from "open access" to "restricted access" closing off many trails and reducing the left over land to an even smaller portion. If you think the takeover of johnson valley wont affect you then your wrong
