    ...no. Its far superior IMO. And i am still going to get one. This little pump i bought is not going to run lockers. it'll also probably take me 15 mins to air up my tires as opposed to 3 mins with CO2

    Around here its Subarus. People take those cars everywhere! Can't tell you how many times I've gone up some bumpy, long forgotten road and I end up having to scoot over to allow a Subie to pass me :annoyed:

    That definitely looks interesting. I would be up for that.

    Doing that section will add at least 2-3 hours driving time to the day. There are 3 spots that I've been considering for stoping on Monday eve. I would say that as long as we can get to one of them by 5:30-6 I would feel good about doing that Elk City Wagon trail first, then start the Magruder.

    Poet Creek Campground 25.0
    Burnt Knob Road #468C 31.1

    Worst case for fuel mileage puts us near the limit in doing Gaingeville to Darby (~180-190 miles) on one tank of gas. Makes having a 5 gal spare even more important.

    Mike, question for you. I installed my Midland 40 channel radio and hooked it all up. I turn it on and the only channel that works seems to be 33 and the instant channel 9. When i try to turn through all the channels, it just flickers 32 and 34 and sometimes stays on them untill i change the channel again. Does that seem like a faulty unit?

    Ian, does the unit have an emergency ch 9 toggle switch. Make sure that is off. Also, do the unit have a channel lock button. Make sure that is off.

    When i switch to 9, it blinks 9.

    When i switch to NOR (Normal), it stays on 33 and sometimes it will randomly switch to 32, 34, and 19. But no matter how many times i spin the dial back and forth it wont change channels properly.

    We don't go through elk city. It is still a few miles further down the road from where the magruder turn off is.

    edit: if you bring your spare fuel can there is nothing to worry about. that is what I was trying to say originally. IMO, an extra 5'er is minimum for stuff like this. Even if you never use it.
