Welcome. You are the ONLY silver Taco in the group!!!! Well... the only silver one you own! I love the licence plate! Looks so NEW!!! Not to many of us have stock lights... Retro's are VERY popular! Look around TW... there are some great step by step threads to follow for almost anything! Also... look at the Shoe Creek thread for 24 - 26 Aug. A bunch of us are going... it's a good time... and if you don't want your new baby too dirty... you can park at the campsite and ride with someone.

Don't pay someone labor to do what you and a fellow TW member cvan do. Just ask for help on a particualr date... and generally someone... or a calvary of guys will be there (maybe even a gal as we have at least one for diversity statistics. :D

I wouldn't mind. Got a new boss man here... kind of annoying me BIG TIME. Went to the range last night to blow off steam... it worked. Here's 50 rounds at 25 feet... 15 of it rapid fire.

I would definitely need some help on these. I've done the drop in kits before, but never retro'd a set of headlights. I do have some experience baking apart lights, well one attempt which was on an old civic of mine a few years back. Didn't turn out too bad really, had a good seal too. The main problem I am running into which led me to think about Custom Lightz was the fact that I do not have an oven to bake apart the lights.
I guess the army feels like they don't instill enough trust in barracks soldiers to have one because someone would end up burning down the place.

Seems live every Tacoma I see around is silver pretty much, ugh. I almost purchased a radiant red one but I found this one closer, had almost 10k less on the clock, one year newer, was almost a couple thousand cheaper, and also came with the JBL stereo. I did glance through the Shoe Creek thread, and I do most definitely want to go. Only thing is that I will be playing in a softball tournament that weekend. Hopefully this wont be the only one because I was real excited to jump on this opportunity to meet some folks and get out of this horrible post.. But prior obligations nipped that in the butt.

I did browse through a lot of the write ups and how-to's on the retrofits, seems like there is a lot involved. I can honestly say that the know how is there, but I lack the experience and tools to do so. One of the golden rules I say with any build I've ever done is that it's better to do it right the first time than to have to do it all over again.

Here are the DDMtuning HID's that I purchased.. For some reason I feel like as I am missing some stuff that should of came with it. It's been a while since I have instaled HID's and can't remember if this is all I will need. I also purchased some 3000k ones for my fogs too. Is there anything I am missing?

    [IMG] [IMG]

This being said.. Would anyone be willing to lend a significant hand with a retrofit? I would supply pizza, beer, cash, first born child, really whatever is needed to complete the swap. Also the knowledge and the know how to direct me to as what is needed for the rest of the retro.

probably around 9. i plan on gettin there a little earlier so i can paint my skids and crossmember while we work and hopefully getting them installed.

also, might be easier to cook something instead of cookout becuase im sure we will be working all day. mine took 11 hours to do. probably could get it done in alot less time this time

Holy crap a lot had happened today! I was planning on getting down there a little before 9 as well. I'm hoping the just the front diff and compressor hook up doesn't take 11 hours!

I don't mind using my time/skill to fabricate stuff [IMG]
I think I can handle a set of sliders, in fact that is going to be my next project :)

Which is all well and good. And hence the lower price.

Some of us, you may be aware, cannot weld. We have other skills we use for gainful employment, which allows us to hire someone to weld for us :)

Spotted a red extended cab or double cab Tacoma with off road tires plus a spare mounted close to the tail gate tonight on Fort Eustis near the softball field. Anyone on here?
