    DR front coils and rear shocks, deaver springs, load leveling airbags, k&n intake, JBA hedders and exhaust,Unichip power chip, URD short shifter, onboard air compressor, upgraded power inverter (1000W put in stock inverters location) budbuilt traction bar, warn transformer winch mount and warn winch, HID headlights and foglights, full LED bulb conversion, LED bed lights, full stereo system with GPS and they all roll on 16x8 black steel rock crusher and 285/75R16 BFG KM2's.
    when i redo my lift i'm going to stick with the same lift i already have (icon front coil overs and rear shocks, camburg uca's, deaver rear leaf pack and keep my air bags). this setup seems to run the best for what i do (mountain trails, minor rock crawling and running on sand).

    the only reason i'm getting a new lift is seeing how i live in Hawaii, there is no shops that can rebuild my coil overs which are dead. had this lift since 2005 and the seal are going....fast. icon said i can send them back to rebuild but i can't be without a truck....yea i didn't keep the stock stuff. so i figured i'd save money for a new set and then i will have spares.

    I have done it again :laugh:

    First:
    - Icon Extended Travel Resi C/Os
    - Icon 2.0" Resi Rear Shocks
    - Wheeler's Add a Leaf/Stock TSB leaf packs
    - Chaos UCAs

    Second:
    - Replaced Icon's 650# springs with King 700# coils, kept the shocks.
    - Replaced stock leafs/AAL with Dakars with
    $82 D29XL Leaf Spring
    D29XL add a leaf
    - Stock bumpstops replaced with wheeler's superbumps.
    - U-bolts flipped.
    - Shackles flipped.
    - Kept the chaos arms.
    - Relocating rear shock mounts and stuffing 15in travel custom Icon 2.5" Resi shocks under there (end of Aug).

    I probably would have gone with a ball joint style UCA. The Uniballs require some attention, especially in the salty regions.

    I also would have pulled apart the Dakar pack before install and coated them with EZ-Glide graphite paint to try and keep the squeaks away.

    no they don't. they can get the rebuild kits but can't nitrogen fill the shocks. and, no one here can nitrogen fill them except one motorcycle shop and they want to charge almost $300 per shock, and that's not including the price of the nitrogen, just labor. that's the labor cost to just fill the shocks cause i told them it would be off the truck carried in.:mad:

    OP, even as a broke college student I decided to dish out the $ and do it right the first time. You get what you pay for in lifts, and I've never heard anyone complain about getting TOO nice of a lift (girlfriends and wifes are compleley opposite though). It sounds like you have your mind in the right place on the spending side, now hopefully people will chime in on your needs side.

    I would have done a better job with researching all of the correct torque specs for every single nut and bolt for the lift installation. This was my first DIY lift install and I'm no master mechanic. I saved a ton of money and learned a whole lot by doing it myself, but I also learned a few things the hard way. I ruined a pair of brand new U-bolts by over-tightening. I also had a scare when I noticed some strange squeaks and pops after doing some mild offroading and discovered 4 or 5 nuts that had worked themselves loose. I'm just thankful I noticed everything when I did. Other than those few things, I am happy with my lift.

    Still saving up to do mine here. Planning on getting ome kit w/ dakars and lr ucas.

    What I hear and have read about dakar squeaks gives me pause. I plan to grease them all up before I put them on, but disassembly really? Do these things squeak that badly? All the other options I looked at, even aal and tsb, people still complained about squeaks, so it looks like a no win scenario.

    I read about loose nuts and bolts alot also, but I have no idea how youd tell if something was torqued too low or high, or what the right torque would even be.

    Do not use grease. It attracts dust. That is why I said I would pull them apart and use the graphite paint. Use a dry lubricant, graphite powder or something like that.

    well when I said grease I didnt mean literal grease, but a suitable substance that would do the job. Got a link to this graphite paint stuff? first time ive seen that mentioned as a remedy. Also, how difficult would it be to pull them apart, paint and put back together?

    Oops. It's called EZ-Slide. http://www.agspecialty.com/EZslide.htm

    Taking apart the leaf pack is about the same as installing an AAL. Clamp the pack, remove center bolt, release clamps, paint, reassemble.

    I don't know. I have one spray can and a quart of the brush on sitting on my shelf. I have not found the energy to tear apart the rear end of my truck yet.

    Good plan. The other thing I would have done (and will be correcting) is install greaseable front spring eye bolts. Mine are frozen in the spring again.
