I only have 1 bike but I transport to and from the track quite often. I have my tailgate down as is and I use a ready ramp as both ramp and bed extender. I can get you some ball park numbers on the bar width and front wheel, but nothing exact since I transport different bikes.

A lot of race car trailers have rails like these mounted in the wooden floor. Don't see why you can't mount them in the bed. There's a whole industry of tire straps and ratcheting straps for these rails.

This test simply showed the tracks withstood 1 g... which is less than what the truck can generate when braking.

Yea, we have those in our track trailer. Great product but not quite what I am looking for. I would like to only replace the front rail and have both a chock and tie down points. I don't know how well that would work with these rails.

I just finished installing a steel reinforcement plate for the tailgate. Time for a new project so I'm going to actually get some ideas going on this. Good ideas to work with from everyone, its much appreciated.
