It's not that they are theives, just that apparently there's a whole underground cash economy. But it's just as much the customers. I have friends who tell me that people are always trying to wrangle a better price by paying them cash. The government sees the whole home improvement industry as a problem. Someone like me that is b2b wants it on the books, so I can offset any hst I have to pay to run my business, and my clients as well. Whereas if Bob Canuck can save $100 in taxes paving his driveway, he will.

As for the creative income, that's every industry where there's self-employment. Me, I don't go nuts. What people don't realize is the government can go back to day one of your business. I saw one guy get nailed for ten years back. Writing off your Harley's, for example, is dumb. If you can't explain it, don't do it. And don't gamble what you can't afford to lose, because Rev Can is ruthless, and will happily put you on the street.

    Nope. Read the last line.

    http://www.hrblock.ca/services/after_assess.asp

If they're auditing you because they think you've been bad, they can go back as far as they want. As I said, had a client who was assessed 10 years of penalties. On my computer, I've got something bookmarked from the CRA (I'm on my tablet and too lazy to search it). My accountant explained something about keeping records for seven years, but it was more than 10 minutes ago, so I don't remember.

You legally only have to keep your financial records for 7 years

Here’s The Worst Olympic Dive You Will Ever See

If this were a “who can make the biggest splash” competition, Stephan Feck of Germany would have easily earned a perfect score. Unfortunately for him, it wasn’t a “biggest splash” competition. It was a 3-meter springboard diving event at the 2012 London Olympics, and it earned him a last place finish in the competition and the proud distinction of owning one of the worst Olympic dives ever.

Same here. However, as the article says, the guy ordered from third-party merchant (not Amazon.com), with the firearm intended for a Pennsylvania gun shop. Obviously the shipping labels (one to this customer, another to the gun dealer) were accidently switched on the boxes prior to shipping. They would have figured out the mistake eventually.

Amazon.com doesn't stock or sell firearms and few stores will ship firearms directly to customers. Instead, weapons are usually shipped to local gun stores, which handle state requirements (license, registration, background check, etc) before handing the weapons over to customers.
