Spruce, i think i may be in the same boat as you... i ordered from ebay using the link in this thread. the fog lights in the ebay listing appear to have 4 holes for the screws... on my truck it looks like there are two fasteners on the outside and two big tabs that slide into female receptors on the inside. Photo above. none of the ebay links for these housings show any useful angle. these were the closest ones i could find that MIGHT work... ebay: 12-13 Toyota Tacoma Bumper Driving Chrome Fog Lights http://r.ebay.com/Y8gfrp

now onto the proclaimed "oh just pop the switch in" statements
    :)

    - the fog location is top row of blanks to the outside... we know this...
    - the wire plug is actually tucked right into the blank itself.
    - to gain access to this bank of blanks you need to remove the lower part of the dash panel. this is because above the mirror control, there is a horizontal piece protruding towards the front of the truck and across. argh!
    - remove the inside tray cubby closest to center console by pulling straight back
    - flip down the little cover thats rectangular and remove the 10mm bolt
    - on the left by the door, on the lower panel, pull the kick panel by pulling inside and back.
    - remove the bolt 10mm bolt now exposed holding the lower panel.
    - pull the panel down and back, the lower section of the dash will come free
    - now the really tricky part. youve got to reach up in there and grab for any of the tabs of any of the blanks you can reach, prob the middle or inside one... once you get one blank out, you will be able to stick your finger in the removed blank and feel the next one over and remove it. i was able to at least push the tops out, and then the blank pulled out. i got the middle one out first, then was able to get the fog one out...
    - in case your using part gorilla method like i did, i recommend you cover the top part of the dash with painters tape where the switches are, i did pry there (from the outside) and it helped, since theres so little room to fully depress the tab, i partially depressed the tab and yanked by the front, it wasnt pleasant, nor pretty.
    - whola' the fog light plug.
    - plug in fog switch, put dash back together.

side question... in the photo below, showing the fog plug, I have my fingers on a plug thats a bit longer, it was found on the inside blank. im assuming this is for the outlet that my truck is not equipped with? is it possible the other end of the system exists and i can also build this system in using existing connections?

The ears on the fog lamps are only screwed on at two points. The other two ears slide under a retainer but in some cases depending on what you buy the ears may need trimming. To get the Camry lights to fit you have to cut the ears on the housing slightly see Trooper's thread

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd...ml#post4658185

It shows exactly where the cuts have to be made, it easy and you may have to enlarge the holes where the screws on the opposite side of the house where they fasten to the back of the bumper. No more then an hour for removing the filler pieces and reinstalling the housings.

DO NOT REMOVE the dash panel to get the switch blank out. Poke the bottom of the blank with a sharp object and start to pull it out then switch to the top and it will pop out there are not clips on the back of the blank that you need to access.

thank you, Camry lights should be here today, based off of Troopers info and photos looks like it will work just fine.

unless you're referring to sliding something in from the front of the switch, to remove it, there's no way to gain access to behind the switch. My blanks had tabs on them that needed to be depressed from the inside. I did not try to slide something in from the front though, that might have worked but there's not much room. there is def no reaching in behind those blanks without removing the lower trim panel, because of the thick plastic divider under that bank that extends 4" forward in an already cramped location. Removal of the lower trim panel is easy, and takes 5 minutes.

    Awesome awesome thread guys,

I have a question, Do we know or can anyone confirm that ALL 2012 Tacos have the pre-wiring in them, seems to be as easy as looking under the front bumper for the plug nestled in a black slot and waiting for a lamp...

    Thanks,

No... 2005-2012, base models will not be prewired, and perhaps not all of the SR5 models.

Yes, it is as simple as looking under the bumper and in the fuse block.

Mines a 2.7 Prerunner SR5 and I looked a little and didn't find any wires. Gonna look better this weekend. Hopefully I just missed it before.

Actually, my 012 RC 2.7 is prewired for a rear view camera. I found the harness when I was swapping out the tailgate latch for a Pop n Lock.

    They are in and working!

No trimming required. I used the Camry links in this thread for the $49 kit. the only thing from the kit you use are the fog lights. the tabs line up into the plastic receptors just fine.

Edit: the relay linked in this thread for $7 arrived, plugged it in, and the fog lights now work! mission accomplished for less than $110!

    You lucky dog!!!

I went by the dealer this morning and checked under the hood and under the bumper, pretty sure all Reg cabs have no pre-wiring for fogs, however if I can order those fogs off ebay I can work with the relay and factory switches real well. Thanks for the input bro!

I liked what somebody said about just wiring the fog lights to the low beams. If I'm not wired for a switch I might just do that! I'll always have them on with the headlights anyway

I thought about that also, being honest I haven't looked into current draw and such from the lights I want to add, I want a yellow lens for lamp, so I think to be safe I want a relay and separate circuit.

Also I want to add another 55w white light under the rear bumper for assisted reverse in the woods here. So I'll be running my wires at the same time into the cab and such!

I know in NC if your seen with fog lights on and no low beam lamps you can be pulled for it. But I know I rewired my old 89 Supra-T to run my fogs w/my parking lights. Lol, it looked BOSS!
