Ah, when i read about this they were still trying to figure out who was supposed to get the gun, and how the mix-up happened. I know guns have to be shipped to FFL, and this wasn't shipped by Amazon. He did, however, make the purchase through Amazon.com. So however it got screwed up between Amazon, the actual seller, and the shipper I don't really care. I just want it to happen to me. LOL

Also, had he not called it in so they could see the box had 2 labels would they have found out? I didn't see anything about the TV going where the gun was supposed to go. So it *sounded* like the TV's shipping label was just slapped on top if the gun's label by mistake. Like maybe someone printed both, and didn't pay attention to which box they were applying it to.

I saw that, reminded me of my daughter when she was four or five, making weird sniffling noises. I laughed when she said, "Ugh! I've got a bee up my nose" and then I thought, "Bee? Wait, wut?" So I asked her again, and she said, "I have a bead up my nose!" "When did that happen?" "A while ago". I looked in her nose, and sure enough, there's a yellow bead. "WTH??" Made her blow her nose, nothing. Took a pair tweezers to see if I could get around it then grab it, nope. Didn't want to push it further in, so my wife took her to the hospital. They waited three hours, and then as the Dr was coming in the exam room...

    ah-CHOO!

    Out it came.

She still says to me, "Daddy, remember when I got that bead stuck up my nose? That was weird!"

You just know on the other end of the web cam, there are two 13 yr olds who stole their mom's credit card and seeing their first web cam girl, just staring, when one says, "Uhhh...when does she take her top off??"

Kind of sad, though, when someone suddenly decides that they're ashamed of the choice they made.

those exploder side steps are actually indestructable. My mom used to have one and they were used as sliders quite a few times and never budged. Well they budged but bent back into shape

Of course, since I don't know about the seller's warehouse procedures and record system, I can only guess. Assuming the guy getting the gun didn't report it, the gun shop would have eventually complained about the firearm they didn't receive, but the television they did. At that point, the seller could have looked at their records to see who purchased that television, perhaps matching up serial numbers to shipments.

If nothing else, the firearm box is marked by the manufacturer as containing hazardous & restricted contents, with UPS (or whatever carrier) required by federal law to record and track that. That unique tracking info would be available to the shipper (law enforcement, etc).

Would certainly be nice to receive such a gift, but it wouldn't last. Might have been able to take it out for an afternoon of shooting though. Just say you thought is was a television and you were watching a western or something. :D
