    Hi there.

I just got a set of custom 1" wheel spacers from wheeladapter.com. They have awesome customer service by the way.

Anyways. My question is this. Whats the best way to shorten my stock wheel studs so they are even with the wheel spacer. Just use a zip cut?

your wheel studs are too long for a 1" spacer? i would refrain from cutting your lugs because the shorter they are the weaker they get.

The wheel studs on my truck stick out past the 1" wheel spacer a little.

Is it not common practice to cut off the excess so that the face of the wheel spacer is flush with the truck lugs so that the wheel can sit flat up against the spacer???

    Am I missing something here??

I see alot of people get the 1.25" spacers. thats what i ran for awhile on my front and now do on my rear. the wheel studs are a weak point especially with spacers. it puts more load on the studs. so trimming them in my eyes is not a great idea. 1 because you stand a good chance of fucking up the threads unless you have a good rethread kit. 2 because shorter wheel studs means less thread engagement. most people try to increase their stud lengths. someone might come thru and say its fine but i dont agree. if you plan on offroading at all definitely do not.

The studs sticking out past the spacer should fit into a gap in the back of the wheels so the wheels sit flush, no?

I'm not sure about this or not, the wheels are being shipped to my house as we speak.
