i am wanting to put a lift on my truck not sure if i want a 3' or 6' lift. the tires i have on my truck now are 245/75/r16. if i leave them tires on will the lift be okay on them tires. i eventually want to upgrade to larger tires. but one thing at a time. and would they look funny with a 6' lift? everything is stock on my 06 tacoma and im starting to upgrade everything now. input would be great :)

Depends on your intended use. 1) Will it be for looks only, or 2) Will you use it offroad?

Keep the stock tires, and get a 6in lift with a 3in bodylift. It looks great

I'd stick with a 3" suspension lift but thats just my opinion. If you go with a 6", you have to start cutting things on the truck and you will have the same clearance as a 3". Yes, stock tires on a 6" would look horrible.

plus....stock tires means stock rims and for a 6 inch you need at least a 17 to clear the calipers if I am correct.

How much are you looking to spend on the lift?

You will want to stay away from those types of lifts. Like Manwithoutaplan said...since you're 2wd you should look into a spindle lift. It's the best way to lift a prerunner and maintain the factory ride. Pair that with a set of billies 5100 front and rear and an aal and you will have a nice suspension setup. Any type of body / spacer lift is a bad idea in the long run. You won't find many that are fond of those....especially here on TW.

X2. You get what you pay for and when it comes to your trucks suspension you dont want to tread lightly. Check out toyteclifts.com....here is the link. Yes some of the lifts are pretty pricey but they are well worth the money in the long run. ;)

Yup...a quality lift will beat a spacer any day. I was considering a spacer at first but did a ton of research and settled on a quality (extremely pricey) lift and I love it!

Is this true? It doesn't make sense to me. I've never looked at 6" lifts though, so I may be missing something.
    +1 for 3"
