I just bought an 09 Tuesday and part of the deal was that my nearly new ms2 tires would be transferred from my 01 to the new 09. The oem dunlops on the new truck were 245's and my ms2's are 265's but I never thought that the alignment would get thrown off so I never asked my sales guy to get that in writing.
I got the tires switched yesterday and since then have driven both highway and back roads and I'm pretty sure the alignment is off a little. It pulls slightly to the right when on back roads and in the middle lane on the interstate.

I have a service appt tomorrow to get it aligned but I'm wondering if they are going to charge me for it($99) and if I should expect it to be free or not. My way of looking at it is the alignment was fine before the tire switch so I should expect the dealer to make sure it was good after.

Changing tires should not have affected the alignment in any way. If the alignment is off, it was like that before the tire swap.

On a side note, you put used tires on the truck, they could be 'wearing in' so to speak. The old truck could have started creating a wear pattern on the tires and the new truck is trying to wear them in differently. Sometimes when I rotate my tires the truck will run a little weird at first.

Do you think I should give it some time before asking the dealer to align it? I drove it with the dunlops tues, weds, and Thursday and didn't feel any alignment issues, I only noticed it after the switch.

Depends on how bad it is. You could try to push them to align it but expect some push back on their part blaming the tires. If it's bad, I'd have them re-align it. Keep in mind that your wider tires will try to 'grab' at road ruts more than the 245's did. It's safe to say that your tires are grippier than the Dunlops also. If it's consistantly pulling then you likely have an alignment problem. If it's only pulling on certain roads or sometimes, then it could be that the tires are just trying to follow the road imperfections. I noticed the truck doing that a lot more when I went from 245's to 265's.

I agree with the above also.

Rotate the front tires to the rear and see what happens.
