    Just enough, and never enough
I got this head unit for Christmas from my parents, i decided to install this bad boy yesterday and take the day off from school. I already had my pioneer that i installed last year in the dash so i used the wiring kit that was on there already, it worked fine. Now i also decided to go with the PAC TR-7 bypass unit which works fantastically. if anyone is planning to go with this bypass i recommend ebay, i ordered mine for 20.83 and got overnight shipping from VA( i was anxious). This also came with an on/off toggle but i did not attach yet. I just wanted the ability to use full functionality of the unit while driving without having to e brake it.

It took about an hour and a half to do the wiring and fitment of the unit to the scoshe dash kit. I felt like i needed four hands to do this install but it all worked out just fine. I also ran the wires to put my 5th gen ipod in the glovebox (as far as i know ipod touch and the iphone video won't work unless you have the latest update from apple). The video from the ipod looks great, almost as good as dvd's. I started watching a ski video last night and was amazed at the quality of the video. The touchscreen is also easy to use and responsive. I have made some background dvd's but i still have to read up before trying this one.

Alpine also made it easy to get to subwoofer controls right on the front screen, i haven't gotten around to configuring the audio but i plan on getting the imprint processor to make the speakers sound better. Alpine also makes a gps unit for the 505 called the nve p1 which is not as expensive as the blackbird II, I will be getting this later as soon as alpine updates the maps.

So far i dig this HU and am very happy with the new addition. I still have to get the white clips for the dash kit since i misplaced mine. I will be back on TW when i get back from class at five, I'll post pictures then. Feel free to comment while i'm gone.

Nice, I just got the Alpine CDA-9884 (not nearly as nice as yours) and it kicks ass. This is my first Alpine and so far it is awesome.
