It's easy if you have about $4500. For a small one...

Thanks Blackdog. I didn't get why they did that either? I did find it was one of the better looking stepsides out there though. This job I thought was going to take a few hours...turned out to be longer but I've got the truck the way I want it...for now. I'm thinking bumper and winch next.

    Cheers, have a good weekend.

I feel like they need to flare out so that the bed itself isn't made smaller?..which then I guess you'd have like a dually bed..

gradually replacing the bumper with hairy bondo ;-)
...or $400 (sorry, now $565) for a readywelder, and preferably a few spare batteries. Though there may be something else that's a bit better for similar scratch (well, a bit more) saw a review of multiple off-road welding solutions including three with alternator mods (no thanks, too much scratch and fuss) - Go Weld - here's the review.

    http://www.parksoffroad.com/miscinstalls/welderreview/weldermain.htm

I guess prices are up a bit since I was looking at readywelders and since that review, but you're still taking perhaps $1000 for the GoWeld unit, which they liked better than the readywelder. If you use storage batteries rather than your starting battery, the readywelder objection they had becomes less.

I sprayed the rocker panels with rustoleum bed liner. It's still growing on me, but now the camper shell stands out even more. May need to paint it black asap.

Holy hell batman that's major overkill. 250amp? Shit man I have done all mine with a 175 just fine. A 150 would be better even for the truck

That's more what I was going for..

Do it!!! Would look cool I think. Be a bitch to get it painted right tho. I like the rocker panels tho

Just realigned the bed against the cab. The gap increases in one side and the topper I have amplified the look. I there anything more permanent solution? This is the second time in the last two years.
