So :wileyC: and :Larry: both beleive there is no change in our climate currently , for example warming in the Arctic resulting in more sea ice melt / less ice pack than there used to be ?

I have not posted that I believe there is no climate change in our climate currently...

or at any other time in history.

oz, i gave you my explanation a couple pages back... at the time i believe you thought it to be rational...

however, the one fleeting question that i've never gotten an answer to, and it's a very simple question, ...is how we go from OMG global cooling to OMG global warming to OMG climate change in less than 50 years time... ...this is an "empirical" as it gets! ...you can't forewarn about a crisis base on a proclaimed "trend", if the trend repeatedly contradicts itself..

I don't remember the whole " global cooling " phenomenon you refer to , but one cannot dimiss the fact that Arctic sea ice is most definitely in a shrinking trend . This would suggest that , at least at the North Pole , the average temperature is higher than it used to be .

In the Arctic at least , " global warming " is a fact

Beleive that there is a warming trend , especially with respect to Arctic sea ice levels .

The sea ice levels have been pointed to as a main source of evidence for a warming trend

Where would one get unbiased...non propaganda...non political...information on the "shrinking Artic sea ice"?

I have no way of being 100% convienced of any warming "trend"...however, I would assume a planet as complex as the earth, would experience climate changes. Just not sure we have data reaching far enough back to call out a "trend"

I have only seen political...propaganda on the issue concerning sea ice levels.

and since I have not lived in the Artic for the past 50 years, I would be hard pressed to have a quality opinion.

the only cold hard "fact" is that this bunch has a very fickle sense of what's going on...

newsweek 1975 - global cooling hysteria
    http://denisdutton.com/newsweek_coolingworld.pdf

...funny how history repeats itself, ....they were dead wrong then, ...why should we fork over our money and sovereignty to them now?

...also, recent observations have shown "more" ice in the antarctic... ...you squeeze one end of a balloon, it displaces to the other side... ;)

There is lots of data on it

My point is people come storming in here , and say " it's all bullshit " , then when you ask them about say , sea ice levels , they've never heard of it , or done any reading or reasearch on it .

So how does one come to an opinion on a subject without doing any research at all on said subject ?

The climate always changes, man doesn't effect that.

Global warming was perpetrated to con the world into a cap and trade carbon market which would make the owners of said market wealthy beyond anyone's wildest dreams. The "science" to prove it was manipulated distorted to reach that conclusion. Now, since their science is completely faulty, they have become obscure and no longer relevant.

unfortunatelly...so much about the issue is political, and I enjoy your posts here too much to get into that mud pile.
