I wish I got the truck in auto and this is manual but oh well. This gets me 38+ mpg on my 120 mile per day commute so I can't complain

 

I can't keep anything stock, no matter what it is. I have lowering springs sitting in the garage waiting to be installed after o get the sua started

 

I want lowering springs bad but love the simplicity of the car. Want to lower it a bit and put 17s on it and be done with it. I just put in a drop in k&n and modded stereo for audio input using the cd player and that's all. Love the corolla has 109k on it and never been in the shop.

 

You would be surprised at the difference in acceleration between the auto and stick. Stick has way mor pep.

 

Has anyone locally tried running the mcmaster-carr carrier bearing?

 

Not I but I really want to.

 

I'm thinking about trying it out since mine is shot to hell... plus it's half the cost lol

The rear is a third member, which involves removing axles, also, engage elocker if you have one for removal of third member. also, obviously do not reuse the paper seal, do not purchase new from toyota, use rtv sealant.

the front is a clamshell design that many enthusiasts rebuilders will not mess with.

ZUK is a very popular, knowledgable rebuilder whom is local. very popular in the offroading scene, specifically all toyotas. ive talked to him on the phone numerous times, he provides his step by step process on his website, but doesnt mess with the newer clamshells, only third members and landcruiser stuff.

 

Went to Firebird drift and drags tonight and saw a 1999-2000 black Tacoma single cab that had a tacomaworld sticker on the back bad had no clue who owned the thing. Im sure you are on here who ever you are?

 

I am aware of all this info. I installed the 4.88s in my truck and have installed numerous gear sets in toyotas, ford 9" and various gm vehicles since I was a heavy line tech for cadillac for 7 years before I decided I hate working on cars for a living. I simply meant does he have the ring and pinion to install into his 3rd member or does he have a pre assembled 3rd member to swap into his housing.

The 'V' version will have a twin turbo'd v6.
