    We just buried my grandfather about a month and a half ago and he had the honor guard ceremony. I did not know each fold of the flag meant something but that is very interesting. Thanks for sharing that!

    As someone who has been handed the flag after such a folding for my Grandfather who served in WW2, its an honor to those who serve. A nice symbolism. But I totally disagree with you that somehow, Americans need to get "Re-educated" about the country in the way in which you are suggesting- which is that it was founded with the idea of religion being used for political doctrine. All you have to do is read the constitution to see the very simple, yet all-important inclusion that church is meant to be separate from state, hence we are not a theocratic country. We're a country of many faiths. That's important to remember.

    In other words, it was added. Now you mentioned in your post that people in this country need to be re-educated about the history of the united states per what was written by our founding fathers.

    I couldn't agree more...
