I'm 44 and I remember when I was a kid it was hot in the summer, just like it is now.

Nothing we do on this planet is significant to the planet itself it was here long before we were and it will be here long after.

so we should clear cut every forest and not bother cleaning up oil spills?

also note the lack of a .edu link to support his argument.

Spin is your game , not mine

Global cooling was a conjecture during the 1970s of imminent cooling of the Earth's surface and atmosphere along with a posited commencement of glaciation. This hypothesis had little support in the scientific community, but gained temporary popular attention due to a combination of a slight downward trend of temperatures from the 1940s to the early 1970s and press reports that did not accurately reflect the scientific understanding of ice age cycles. In contrast to the global cooling conjecture, the current scientific opinion on climate change is that the Earth has not durably cooled, but undergone global warming throughout the twentieth century

great, so it appears you have acknowledged i was right in my proclamation that there was a global cooling alarmism in the 1970s era...

so FFD to today, and the same bunch is decrying "climate change", because the warming trend was found to taper off in the early 2000s and data failed to support the radical "hockey-stick" like claims of exponential seal level rise and temperature rise... so, when they're beaten down, twice, they morph it into a nebulous term, "climate change", which basically is a cover for we don't know WTF is going on but it must be because of man-made emmisions, and, oh by-the-way, we will setup this nifty global tax/trade architecture that "we" will operate and oversee for you... c'mon, this is more apparent than the nigerian email scammers...

cap-n-trade has to do w/ liberty and sovereignty.... cap-n-trade is the "end", ...ginning up a faux crisis is the means to the end...

pop quiz: by-and-large, ...where do scientists get their money from?

...not social scientists,... in a broad scope; the earth sciences, etc... or, in a more specific sense; "climatologists"...

...notice, i don't conflate "meteorologists" in this...

    same bunch, eh?

"Thank you for your note. You've hit on a point that has bugged me for a few years now, ever since I learned that the deniers of global warming were using my Newsweek piece to support their position. As you correctly point out, the article summarized the science of the time. Since then, numerous climate-sensing satellites have gone into orbit and theoretical understanding of atmospheric chemistry has improved considerably. I have occasionally thought of publishing an update to the article, but I’ve always decided that such an action would garner unwanted notoriety without changing any minds."

global warming / climate change / whateveryouwanttocallit "skepticism" is a widely held view, ...and people realize that it's perpetrated by a single political ideology... while your comment is whimsical, this is not tin-foil hat stuff... the goals of the IPCC and friends is cap-n-trade...
