Okay, guys, I need to confess and preach. After 39 years of handling guns without a mishap, I went brain dead today. I needed to work on my wife's Kimber having broken it in a competition. I had a .22 conversion on the .45, and was disassembling it to get started. I forgot to check the chamber. It went off through my hand. When I think about what COULD have happened I get cold chills- my dogs, my kids, my wife.... even a neighbor. I'm not religious, but I thank god for the luck bestowed upon idiots.
There is no excuse for my stupidity, especially after all my experience. Which means it can happen to anyone.
I'm going to mount and frame the bullet over my reloading bench to snap some sense into my head when I mess with them. Along with this picture

wow very lucky. that's why everytime I pick up a weapon, I check the chamber. Even when a friend hands me a gun to look at and I just saw him check it, it still gets the slide or the bolt carrier pulled back. GL with your recovery.

    very sweeeet. info please :D
