So....in all honesty. Does anyone but myself think Bama could do it again this year? (and I'm an AU man!)

I actually enjoy watching Bama play and really do pull for them every time (except the Iron Bowl of course). I prefer to keep those trophies in the state. Would rather it be in Auburn just so my wife can't talk all her shit! lol

If Auburn can keep itself out of trouble...but, hey they have gotten pretty good at hiding it...besides, we have got a little something for y'all again this year...

All it takes is $180,000 to get whatever you want in college ball! :D
But if people think that things like that aren't happening in every large program then they are in severe denial. I want the trophy to stay in the state of Alabama and I think the tide could do it again this year. As much as it pains me to say this...Georgia has a good shot and really can drive their own destiny.

We need to learn from them and get better at hiding it.
And they will have a much improved D this year. Not sure about what they have on talent but VanGorder should pick up their defense. Oh how I hated when he left UGA. But I am glad we have Grantham.

I hope so, but Murray has to mature, we don't know what kind of running game/o line we will have, and special teams needs to improve big time. If improve on these 3 things I think we can definitely make a run.

How so? If the player isnt using another as leverage or whatever, then how can it be? But then they are coming up with some crazy rules...

This is from the rule book. Says nothing about extra points. You are allowed to jump over a player in it.

Don't know. But, I can see where it would come from. Punts and extra points/field goals are different animals. From the way you line up, to the way you come in to block it. When was the last time a punt was blocked by someone leaping over the line? How many times a year do we see extra points blocked by it? Punts are blocked 9/10 times by the guy off the side. Field goals are blocked by a guy up the middle 9/10 times.

The NCAA Rules Committee approved the following rule changes for the 2012 season (mainly for safety reasons):

Kickoffs will be moved up to the 35 yard line from the 30.
The kicking team will only have a five yard running head start on kickoffs.
Touchbacks will move from the 20 yard line to the 25 yard line only on kickoffs and free kicks after a safety. Touchbacks on punts rolling into the end zone or fumbles into the end zone will remain at the 20-yard line.
Players will be forbidden to leap over other players when blocking punts.
Players who lose their helmets during a play (except when caused by fouls such as grabbing the facemask) will have to leave the field for one play.
Offensive players in the tackle box at the snap who are not in motion are allowed to block below the waist legally without restriction. All other players are restricted from blocking below the waist with some exceptions (i.e. blocking straight-on).

It does say blocking punts, so PATs my be different.

Very good explanation.. However, on field goals it shouldn't matter but then it seems like unless a player has an amazing vertical, then by this ruling it seems like a blocked FG will be almost non-existent. I guess my question is, what is the basis if the player doesn't use a lineman as a launching point? In reality, what does it hurt?
