If u followed the bailout in 08 u would know half the money went over seas. Like i said there are many people with power behind the scenes. Not just with global warming. One of the biggest pushers of the climate thing is one of the Rothchilds kid. Our media has pushed many agendas for many decades now. In my opinion, global warming has just been one of them.

He was worth less than 2 million before his global warming crusade. Now 100 million. I can't see what other reason he would have to push this stuff other than he cares soo much about the environment  Im all for capitalism but not on made up stuff.

Gore is a on the board of directors for Apple and a senior adviser to Google. not to say he hasn't made some money from his global warming awareness campaign, but the bulk of his net worth is from Apple, Google, and speeches (up to $100,000 per speech).

Depends on context. Our existence on this planet is insignificant in that absent blowing up the planet, it will recover from no matter what we do to it. Including oil spills, pollution, clear cutting all the forests, trash ,etc...

My point is the planet isn't being destroyed, we are, but I see just as much evidence to support no human initiated change is occurring in the climate as the other side would say exists to support climate change.

I also feel pollution is the least of our worries and there are far greater threats to humanity than the "carbon footprint."

I appreciate all you folks on here driving your electric tacomas and living such a "green" lifestyle but your arguments are akin to a 400 lb. man giving advice on healthy eating.

Climate Change is fact. Weather or not WE are causing it is yet to be determined.

The planet would recover , not necessarily in a shape that would support us comfortably , but yes , recover it would .

The climate change data , study , etc is trying to establish what the climate trend is going to be moving forward , and how , if we are responsible in some way , to mitigate our effect on the trend .

To suggest that anyone concerned by the forecasted trend towards a warmer Earth is a hypocrite if not driving an electric vehicle today is somewhat harsh given that the technology has not become mainstream enough right now for that to be the norm , however , if you look at the rate at which alternate vehicle technologies have developed in the last decade , I would say that it's not too far away

    I agree

That's the reason for researching the trend

Or perhaps you would suggest we just wait and see

Yes I would prefer to wait and see. Researching the trend and implementing laws and regulations are 2 different things, right? I believe in research. We have not researched long enough to determine anything but that its happening.

I don't believe anyone in here would argue that humans are the sole cause of climate change.
I, like others, argue that human activities contribute to climate change and accelerate the process.

Destroyed?Okay, perhaps that is debatable. Yes, the planet will be here after us. How about devastated? Can we all agree on that? And, since we can agree on the fact that the planet will likely survive us, can we instead consider the legacy and the problems our children will have to deal with?

Whether or not the recent weather craziness (extreme snow fall, tornados, hurricanes, record heat waves, drought) are directly the cause of climate change, it is a very good example of what our kids could face if all predictions turn out correct (again, see precautionary principle). Such conditions will destroy/devastate the future economy.

I think many folks are giving too much creadit to the amount of influence we can have on an entire planet. The amount of influence we have on the climate, is similar to someone standing in their living room of their house, with the AC at a nice 75*, then lighting a lighter for an hour. Do you think your gonna heat up your house? The amount of methane, CO2, and particulates the ocean, volcanos, wind, etc., stirs up into the atmosphere, greatly overshadows anything we can produce at this time. If you gather up the entire worlds population, and stuck them in one place, they (we) would all fit into the state of Nebraska. I dont think we are a significant driving force to cause concern. Not saying we "couldnt" be.....I mean.....If we all started to burn our homes down, blew up a shit load of Nukes, and farted at the same time, perhaps we could melt a few more icebergs. But, as our activities currently sit, we are nothing more than an anoying dude holding a lighter while sitting in the living room......
