Well I have a 3" on my truck. I wanted to put my 265/70s on really bad so for the time being I just slapped a spacer in and some 2" blocks and they clear after I chopped the passenger side cab mount and trimmed some plastic

But now I want my lift to be better and the right way
I know everyone runs Bilstein 5100s? So this is a good start
With OME 885s or 886s if they run a aftermarket bumper or winch. I'm going to one day so 886s for me?
In the rear with the 5100s I'm thinking AALs? Which ones? I still want about 3" of lift.
Also do I have to buy UCAs? Is the ball joint angle that bad that we need aftermarkets? I don't wheel as hard as most people do. Mostly just on the road. But I do want to go on some trails one day. Nothing crazy though

I know there's total chaos arms. They're like 800 or more they even make lowers? I assume for just long travel?
    Which arms do you recommend?

We were all here at one point bro. I have 5100s all 4 corners so I'll stand by them. I have the 885s which gave me about 3.25" right off the bat with the 5100s setting at 0. Im getting a bumper and winch as well and am in the market for a set 886s, so if you plan on gettin one really soon id say go for em. I have the rear TSB which added one leaf to the original 3 then i went and bought the 1.5" AAL from toytec.com and my truck sat just about dead level at 3" front and rear.

UCAs...well I've heard it all. I was on a tight budget for my lift so the light racing UCAs appealed to me most since they run i think $400 area, but ive seen used ones go for 300ish on here, so keep an eye out. I got them just beacause I heard there was alignment issues with stock after a lift and bigger tires...others say they managed to do without new ones but its your call, idk what its like with stock UCAs and a lift. Good luck dude...oh and youre in Tucson SO id be happy to show you my set up so you can see in person if my lift is what youre lookin for

    Thanks guys!
Stefen, it sounds like I want to get everything that you have then. How do I know if I qualify for the TSB? I bought it brand new in 08 with 17 miles. I have the extended warranty and everything but I do my own oil changes

When I get back to town I defiantly would love to check out how yours is setup! Sounds like just what I want

You don't need a fancy suspension just to wheel. Yea it will help with ride quality, but I have done a lot of pretty tuff trails with my spacer lift and AAL.

If you have a TRD sport or OR you qualify for the suspension TSB. Hit me up when you get back, I will take you to my service person at Desert Toyota on 22nd, she is awesome and will hook you up. I have walked in for 3 TSB's and its been done no questions asked.

The only problem is if your over the 36,000 miles then you will have to pay for the TSB. If thats the case I would reccomend getting an AAL for the non TSB leaf pack from TOYTEC. We can help you out man, most of us have done all the work ourselves so helping you with yours is easy, especially if you have access to the base and the auto hobby shop.

Another Tucson member here. I am running Dakar full leaf pack and OME Shocks with 885 on the front. I am running stock upper arms, have been for a while. Only issue is tthe alignment is a little off but the truck drives good and has been driven several thousand miles in its current state. If you can't afford upper arms now you will be fine.

Yea I'll buy the arms later then. But I want the 5100s and 886s for sure

I am over the 36K mark. I have like 42ish? Plus my drive from Louisiana to here so add another 1200 or so lol

Well how much is the TSB? Like I said I do want a full 3" at least. Thought about a 6" but no one likes bracket lifts and my mpg would suck. It's just not logical for me right now. So a 3" (done right) sounds perfect to me

I'll deffinatly hit y'all up once I get back. I do have access to the hobby shop, so if y'all ever need it just hit me up. I'm down to help anyone. I've installed AALs and coils/springs before. But having that second set of hands that's done the same thing is always good to have

If you want the full lift in back and your going with the armored bumper I would go with a whole new leaf pack in back. Either the Dakar or the ALLPRO Expo leafs. Costs a little more but they will give you more lift and ride better. The AAL usually only adds about 1.5 inches but the entire leaf pack adds about 3.

Well I know what I need for the front at least. Guess I'm buying a whole leaf pack for the rear. Just as long as it rides decent, doesn't squeak, and yields 3"s lift

There's no difference in the Dakar or Allpro is there? Just maybe price?

You can ride in mine and see what its like. I have the allpro EXPO pack which is more heavy duty than the standard allpro or Dakar leaf pack. I have that heavy rear bumper with swing away tire carrier.

My truck rides stiffer than stock but all in all it actually rides pretty good. If I dont pump my tire pressure up to 45-50 psi than it actually rides very nice and the thing wheels like a beast. We can go for a ride when your back in town.

Do you plan on going with an armored rear bumper or towing/carrying extra weight back there much? If so then go with the expo rear end.

    Yes.
Isn't it not recommended to run 886's with 5100's? Nothing more than 885's should be run with 5100's. Someone correct me otherwise.

I have a complete OME lift. Shocks, 886's and the Dakar pack. I love it.

I know people on this site don't like road armors, but I like them, one day I'm going to get both. Or I may like your rear tire carrier one.

I'd like to ride in yours and see how it rides. The Dakar pack is like $400. 5100s are 360ish? How much are springs? I do haul trailers alot, carry a bunch of stuff sometimes, plus I intend on getting real bumpers one day. So the allpro leaf pack will probably be my choice

I like the roof racks to! One day I have to get an OEM one
Himmie-how much was your OME lift?

    Yes.
I purchased mine from Toytec Lifts: (The Dakars are an additional amount.) There is also an option for just front suspension, as well.

I know most people purchase 5100's from Downsouth Motorsports.

All right everyone, I am a total newb at suspension and I have some questions too. What is this "TSB" thing i keep reading about, is this something the dealer will offer if you have poor rear end suspension? I priced out a Icon stage 4 with the add a leaf and remote resi shocks, any feedback on the ICON setup, I heard it is a really stiff street ride but stiff on road and is designed for higher offroad driving.
