Idaho BS thread in the PNW

Really..hmm i just figured that because all the threads I have read everyone has done it with 4gauge and the circuit or the fuse.

 

How long with the 4 gauge wire be? If it is less than 5 ft I'm sure 4 gauge will be fine as long as it is true 4 guage. After that I would go to 2 guage wire. 0 gauge can handle massive amounts of power for a long ways. I run 0 guage for my stereo on a 250 amp fuse but that wire is at least 20 feet long and it is probably still a little overkill.

 

well ihave no stereo or anything as of now. The 4 gauge would be a whopping foot or two max lol its just running from the battery to the fuse box under the hood. Most likely less than a foot.

 

Mac I'm running my dual battery system to a 100A isolator and only using 4g wire. all of it is less than 18" long and I haven't melted anything. 0/1 is overkill for something that short. I like mike's idea about using both the breaker and the fuse as a redundant safety feature.

 

Yea..I'll have to pick one up i oredered everything already...supposed to be here wednesday. I really cant imagine 4g wont work, especially since its only running my lights as of now

 

8 gauge wire can safely handle 100 amps at 2 feet easy so 4 gauge will be just fine

 

im also running 4 guage wire for my twin batteries. haven't had an issue. then agian im not running dual winchs either.

nice time saving templates.. should be able to get that done in a day. ill save that project for this winter so when i hit Moab in the summer there are no issues with rub. in the front that is. the rear will be easy to fix. just trim a little more.

 

Half of the south central mountains are on fire. Its closing highways constantly and filling the mountains and vally with smoke. Boise smells like a camp fire lol

 

Ha ha! Yeah, isn't this just great? Went wheelin' yesterday, and all the smoke made it difficult to see the distant mountains in the background. It must be worse down in the valley...?

Dont take this the wrong way, but I fit 35's with no rub on my white '98 taco x-cab with 2.5" of suspension and a 2" body lift. That is what RCTOY is used to seeing... my looked tiny. Looked like all tire and no lift. Different strokes for different folks. And I still miss XTRMTOY!

 

It was baaad up by idaho city.it looked like the whole valley was full of fog. Some of those trails look like fun. Eventually I'm gonna get a day and come up there to wheel.

 

You know most people burn in hell for selling their first toy. and second off i wouldn't rub either if i would buy upper control arms. but id rather make more room for these tires and um bigger tires in the furture.

 

The smoke is really bad over in the Sun Valley area too.
