    It's about a half inch, I thought that would be enough. I won't be doing any hard offroading in the near future.

    I mean since you aren't planning on going off road adventures then you half inch gap is fine. However if you were to get into an accident with all these really "smart" people on the road then you'd have more problems than bent fender flares...not sure I can describe that much better

    I understand about the accident problems. I read on another forum about possible liability problems with a nonstock bumper. I thought that is what you might have meant.
