So 2 hours Into my road trip the alternator stopped working, towed it home and verified that the alternator has no output. Im right at 50k miles so no longer under warranty.
So I picked up a new alternator at autozone, and swapped it. Still not working, took the oem alternator into autozone, and their machine says it works fine.

So what else will cause the alternator to not have output, verified it doesn't output with voltmeter. Where do the wires go that plug into the 4 pin connector, any sensors??

did you check the alternator fuse in the fuse box under the hood? also check the connections, big cable, from the fuse box to the alt.

Check your ground cables. The lack of a ground will cause the truck to not run.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
No sensors. They go to the ECU, Body ECU, Combination meter, IGN and IGN NO.2 fuses, 7.5 A ALT fuse, and the 120/140 A ALT fuse.

You should have a 5Yr / 60K mile warranty on the drivetrain, so take it to the dealer.

Would the alternator be covered under the 60k warranty? I thought it would be an accessory so it would have to be covered under the 3/36k bumper to bumper, can anyone clarify this?

I did check all the fuses, 140 under hood is good, so is 7.5 and all other fuses.
The main alternator charge cable is good and shows 0 resistance between alternator post and positive battery post.
Ground wire is good, never did the foglight mod.

Did you try changing out the 7.5 A fuse just in case it is bad and doesn't look like it?
