I have seen headlights on multiple tacomas on here. I love the ones that are murdered out and I believe are called halo lights? Or have projectors?
Im not sure the differences but I want to give my 2012 this mod. I want to black out the lights which I'm pretty positive I understand. Its the whole projector or halo light part I don't understand. How do I make mine this way?

Check the lighting forum brother. There are several threads on Projector conversions and which one to go with. Great upgrade from the shabby stock halogens.

Is there a way i can edit this thread to the lighting forum. I noticed there isn't exactly the answer I want because the 2012 headlights are different and I think others feel the same. @Taqoma. Any help is great. Now I know to check out ebay. I have read something about buying projectors from there but I still don't understand the whole concept on what is modded.

the ones on ebay just replace the whole head lamp assembly. looks like u unbolt the old head lamp, the whole thing, and take it out....bolt in new halo head lamps and plug in. no real "modding" just replacing parts.

2012 might come out soon if they're not already...they are totally different shape so might not be available yet

Look up retro fitting them. You won't find any 2012 headlights. Plus if you retro fit them you won't be buying any new headlights for awhile the eBay ones suck as bad as stock headlights.

Where did you find the ones for the 12? Did you do them yourself? I am dying to get this look for my 12.

I ordered the kit from the retrofit source and did it myself. I used the mini h1s and mini gatlin shrouds.

Best to go with a "real" projector from a junkyard find and cut/retrofit them to your factory housings.

The eBay projectors are designed for halogen (and are terrible with them) and often have a very poor cutoff with HID.
There are some eBay projectors that are good, so if you can get a recommendation from an owner (and preferably see the cutoff yourself) you're good to go, but the cheap ones are going to be crap.

    True HID projector retrofit.

Not cheap, but the only safe and moderately legal way to switch to HID.

$175 for a pair of projectors? doubt they are any good and do not think they are actually for 2012's. altho it says it fits 2012's. for a pair of 2012 light housings you will pay around $450 and thats without any projectors in em.

    Definitely won't fit the '12.
    Auction is mis-described as '05-'12
