hey so im about to pull the trigger on a AFE stage 2 CAI for my truck. i see all prices online for it are about 270ish 280ish. i found a site for 230 with free shipping and im really considering it. I just want some more power out of the taco, and i have the deckplate mod right now, but do u think the CAI will make a difference? or not worth the 230. and i have exhaust all ready so i think the CAI is like the icing on the cake.. opinions??

 

Has anyone thought about doing a trip to the cinders?

 

That will not make a damn difference from the deckplate mod except you will be 300 dollars poorer.

You wont really notice a difference man. Honestly. It sounds good for sure, MAYBE some better throttle response.. maybe.

I can tell the difference with an intake vs without one.

But from what I read, the deck plate mod is the best for 1st gens.

 

Sorry bud but its the truth, your deckplate mod is more than enough and if you want it louder you can play with the silencer, or exhaust but you will eventually wish it wasn't so loud if it is your dd

damm i was looking foreward to some hp boost and a little more power! alright guess ill stick to the deck plate

 

you could do well with a drop in afe filter, because I hate hate hate oiling my k & n

 

I got an oil-less cold air intake... Only thing is i dont know what kind it is

 

ya i got a drop in k&n that i gotta clean and oil occoasionally

 

No k&n. Pieces of junk... Because you have to oil them and it sucks.ha

 

my advice would be to spend that money on gussets, a much better investment

 

already did tc spindle gussets and trail gear frame box kit! sitting in my room from when i ordered them last week
