    Yep portals is my plan at some point, I will check out CL in ABQ and see if I can find them.

    Edit I'm not finding them and just did a bunch of searches.

    x2! lolol

    So, JW, what are the plans with the 303s? Suspension? You're already gonna have 5" of lift with the portals, so it'll be hard to keep her low with any significant up travel... You going to flip the front axle to driver side drop to keep your crawler and t-case or keep the front pass drop and go with an atlas or something?? Thankfully it's not to hard to flip those axles... and what tire siz do you want to run? with 5.99 final gear ratio in those 303s, you're gonna have to go pretty big to remain practical for daily use... Or will your truck become a trailer queen? Gonna get chromoly gears for the portals and upgraded axles? Gonna have to do that to run bigger tars than 40s unless you baby the throttle....

    Gonna be sick either way!!!! :eek:

    He is pondering ruffstuff axles with d60 outers and the LC 3rd.

    uuuuuuuuuuuhhhhh................ Volvo c303 axles are a complete axles out of these things:
    [IMG]

    Am I missing something? :confused::confused::confused:

    Ruffstuff axles with a LC third and 60 outers with BOLT-ON portals is a much different story than running pure c303 axles.... Unless vovlo portals will bolt-on to the ruff-stuff housing. (which I highly doubt)

    The yota hybrid axles with bolt-on portals would still still be pretty cool, but not as inexpensive/wide/strong?

    If I found a set of 303's the plan would be to swap the TC to a passenger drop and 40's......but I searched around last summer for them and had no luck so that is where the custom housing idea came from but the axletech bolt on portals are something I bounced around with Matt @ Stoffrogen. Like I said in the other thread it is all just talk at this point other than having a set of FJ 60 toy axles sitting around.
