33" or 35" Toyo MTs

I am going to be installing my 6" ProComp Stage II lift here soon.

I have selected the lift and selected my required 18" wheels.

The only question left is should I go with a 33" Toyo Open Country MT or should I pick the 35" Toyo Open Country MT?

Will I really lose that much power or gas mileage between a 33" and a 35" tire? I think the 35" will look better but dont want to make to many sacrifices for the look. The 4x4 shop will charge me $10 more per tire for the 35s.

Any advice or opinions on which I should chose and why?

 

Based on price alone I would go with the 35's.

I however have no experice with them in any other way on our tacomas.

Its not all about the looks. Its also about whether the tradeoff of gas mileage and power worth jumping up to a 35" tire.

35 looks better than the 33 but looks aint everything when you are already spending 5-6k,

 

I would have to say 35"s since you are getting a 6" lift. Be aware because even though you are going up 6"s, I've heard that there is still a bunch of trimming involved for them to work right. Might want to ask the 6" guys.

For $10 additional for each tire for 35's is a DAMN good deal.. However, Milleage will be different (b/c toyo's are heavy tires)...I have 33's on my truck, they look big and are very durable...35's would look sick with a 6'', but if you are worried about mileage and rubbing, you should go with 33's

 

You could have fit 33's with a 3" lift. Why stop now, go with the 35's, it will look much better with 6" lift. The milage loss between 35's and 33's will be pennies compared to the cost of buying 35's to replace your 33's if you regret the decision.

Well with a 6" lift there wont be much gas mileage to salvage

I don't think how much lift you have determines if you need to regear...tire size is what matters

 

i kno but im saying that if hes going that much of a lift and if he decides to go with bigger tires then if he regears he will get better mpgs

 

4X4 shop says that once they are mounted (35s) there aint no taking them back. So, if they mount them and they rub then I will end up having to cut stuff to make them fit. Not feeling that right now.

Its a delima now. Stay with the safer 33 that fits, or go for the 35 and risk some rubbing. ProComp says it will fit without rubbing but its a tough risk to accept.

 

i say mount them and if and only if they rub buy a 1 inch body lift and have the shop put it on

 

This is just my opinion, but with the luck I've had with info from ProComp......I wouldn't trust one effin' thing they say.....lol

 

from the trucks ive seen, the trimming isnt too bad to get the 35s to fit. just remember that runnin the 35s your gonna have to regear at some point cuz you wont get up past 70.
