First off that truck is the size of a limo, it's a sport model so its not as capable offroad, Double cabs trucks are just silly and 4 full doors belong on sedans and SUV's.

If you have the itch for a second gen at least get a better one than that.

Oh and lastly your truck will last longer, better mpg's and retail value longer.

If I ever buy another Tacoma it will be another first gen or a third gen if they fix all the issues.

You can't ask that question in a 1st gen section LOL. Ask the same question in the 2nd gen threads and I bet you get the exact opposite as whats been stated in here

Used just 600 grit to sand them up same as used on bumpers and never had any problems out of them while painting but now after researching scotch brite seems to be the best choice for them

Used Rustoleum Wheel paint and a dupli color primer and i did put thick coats overall it does look really good with exception of a couple bad spots on each rim im pretty optimistic about being able to sand out the rough spots though

mmmmmmm Depends what you want it for ??? to me 1st gens are more aftermarket friendly and cheaper and parts everywhere just gotta look... if i were you i would sell your 1st gen and go for a 1st gen 3.4 manual or auto, i heard that those 2.7's are pretty weak.

P.S. nowadays the older the better... these new gen cars are having more problems and are all computerized that sooner or later it gets annoying.
my 98.. 195,000 miles S/C and runs like a champ :) and easy to work on
